  3. Basic Pokemon is weak when targeted

Set Up for a Quick Attack With Carnivine

  1. Carnivine (Triumphant Light)
  2. Arceus ex

Carnivine

is one of the few Basic Pokemon that can deal 50 damage with just 1 Energy if Arceus is in play. By placing it in the Active Spot and having Arceus on the Bench, you can take down your opponent with a quick attack.

Arceus ex is Easy to Generate Firepower

The deck is designed to quickly get Basic Pokemon into the Active Spot, and even if Carnivine gets Knocked Out, you can still dish out significant damage with Arceus ex

. If Carnivine isn’t an option, you can use Combee to draw a card, then evolve it into Vespiquen to set up for an attack.

Basic Pokemon is Weak When Targeted

To generate damage with Arceus ex, you'll need to set up Pokemon on your Bench. However, all Pokemon other than Arceus ex have 100 HP or less. The problem is that you can easily lose key Pokemon to Sabrina

’s Gaze, which can disrupt your strategy.
