Palkia ex Deck - Pros / Cons

  1. Excellent combination of Manaphy and Vaporeon
  2. Palkia ex can One-Hit KO many Pokemon
  3. Cyrus is easy to use effectively

Excellent Combination of Manaphy and Vaporeon

The Palkia ex deck uses Manaphy's Attack while performing Energy Acceleration to fight. By combining it with Vaporeon, it's possible to efficiently move the accelerated Energy.

Increasing Manaphy's HP with Giant Cape

Manaphy's HP is not very high at 50. By using Giant Cape, you can increase it to 70, which could allow it to withstand attacks from Pokemon like Primeape.

Palkia ex Can One-Hit KO Many Pokemon

Palkia ex's Attack No.2 allows it to deal 150 damage to the Active Spot and 20 damage to the entire Bench. Once Palkia ex is set up, it can One-Hit KO many of the opponent's Pokemon, which is incredibly strong.

Cover the Energy Discard with Energy Acceleration

Palkia ex's Attack No.2 is powerful, but it comes with the heavy drawback of discarding 3 Energy. If you've successfully performed Energy Acceleration with Manaphy or Misty, you can easily make up for the disadvantage and steer the game in your favor.

Cyrus is easy to use effectively

When Palkia ex deals damage to the Bench, you can use Cyrus to bring out any Pokemon you want. This increases the chances of finishing the game when Palkia ex makes its second attack.

Palkia ex Deck Strategy

  1. Energy Acceleration with Manaphy or Misty
  2. Move Energy using Vaporeon
  3. Palkia ex Deals with the Main Opponent
Energy Acceleration with Manaphy or Misty
  1. Manaphy
  2. Misty
  3. Articuno ex

It's ideal if you can attach Energy first using Manaphy or Misty. You want to attach Energy as quickly as possible to attack with Articuno ex.

You can also use Palkia ex

If you can't get enough Energy, you can also use Palkia ex to attack using the 1 Energy cost attack. It will become difficult to get Manaphy into battle in the later game, but you'll want to use Energy Acceleration to switch them with Leaf if you can.

Move Energy using Vaporeon
  1. Articuno ex
  2. Vaporeon
  3. Palkia ex

Retreat Articuno ex if its HP gets low and use Vaporeon to move Energy into the active spot. This will allow for a smooth transition and consecutive attacks.

Palkia ex Deals with the Main Opponent
  1. Palkia ex
  2. Cyrus

When you are going against the main opponent, Palkia ex will be your main Pokemon. Use Articuno's second attack move to chip away some HP, then use Cyrus to get Palkia into the active spot.
