Massive Burst Damage with Shakdoh
Shakdoh Abysscraft centers around finishing the game with the explosive damage from Shakdoh, Nightblossom’s effect. A word of warning, since the deck can be somewhat demanding to play, and relies on drawing cards of matching costs, surviving until 10 Play Points, and holding a Super‑Evolution. Still, the payoff is huge, and being able to unleash 16 burst damage in a single turn when the combo connects is fun.

Shakdoh Abysscraft Deck - How to Play
Control the Field Early On

Start the game by calling your followers onto the field and using spells to keep your opponent's side clear. Your goal is to keep the match stable until you’re ready to play Shakdoh, Nightblossom.
Pressure Them into Shakdoh’s Range

By using Storm from Aryll’s Bats and the Ghosts from your Memorial, it is easy to chip away at the opponent until they are within Shakdoh’s 16-damage reach. You can push for even more damage by combining Storm with Vuella, the Blastwing, and Super-Evolution.
Handle Tough Fields in the Mid-Game

Evolve Milteo & Luzen to wipe out powerful enemy teams. Since their effect destroys 6 random enemies, they can remove followers that are usually impossible to target, like those with Intimidate, Aura, or Ambush.
Tip: Never Super-Evolve Milteo & Luzen
If you Super-Evolve Milteo & Luzen, they gain a Crest that stops their Fanfare ability from working. This, in turn will prevent Shakdoh’s own effect from activating later, so make sure you only use a regular evolution on them.
Heal & Clear with Fediel, Darkness Personified

Fediel is great for staying in the game. Use his ability to bring back a Bat so you can heal up with its Drain. Between Fediel’s AoE field clear and your evolved followers, you can secure the field so you can safely play Shakdoh.
Close the Game with Shakdoh, Nightblossom

Shakdoh’s effect can deal massive damage to the enemy's leader and followers. Since her Super-Evolution makes the hit even harder, you should save a Super-Evolution Point specifically for her big turn.
Save Cards in Your Hand for Shakdoh, Nightblossom
Shakdoh, Nightblossom's Fanfare allows you to redraw a number of cards equal to those returned to your deck. The more cards you have in hand, the easier it is to deal powerful damage, so in anticipation of playing Shakdoh, you'll want to keep a large hand size.
Manage Your Card Costs
Since you want to draw four 2-cost cards with Shakdoh, Nightblossom, try to play as many non-2-cost cards as possible before you use it. Reducing the number of non-2-cost cards in your hand and deck will increase your chances of success.
You Can Also Finish the Game with Sandalphon, Primarch Successor

If you use Sandalphon, Primarch Successor, you can also rack up your evolution count with cards like Fediel, Darkness Personified or Nehan, Dispenser of Samsara to finish the game with Sandalphon's Super Skybound Art. Pairing this with Laura’s Super-Evolution is another great way to deal a sudden burst of damage.
Mulligan Guide for the Shakdoh Abysscraft
Keep cards you want to play in the early game
| Keep cards you want to play from the early game | ||
|---|---|---|
Ghastly Soiree | Winged Servants | Rigor of the Nightblossom |
Keep these three cards that you'd want to use in the early game. Ghastly Soiree secures your opening turns, Winged Servants sets up a Bat for Fediel, Darkness Personified, and Rigor of the Nightblossom is excellent for restoring resources.
Keep Screaming and Loathing

Screaming and Loathing** is a versatile **mass removal** tool that can avoid draining your hand by **reclaiming** a 3‑cost spell. By reducing the number of 3‑cost cards in your deck, you make it easier to satisfy Shakdoh, Nightblossom’s condition.
Keep When You Have Multiples of These Cards
| Keep if you have multiples of the above | |
|---|---|
Shakdoh, Nightblossom | Lyria, Skydestined |
If your opening hand already contains multiple copies of the 3 cards shown above, prioritize keeping Shakdoh, Nightblossom or Lyria, Skydestined, who can search for Shakdoh and even Fediel, Darkness Personified to secure your mid‑game plan.
Keep vs. Matchups With Strong Midgame Development

Against matchups that build a threatening mid‑game board. For example, Portalcraft’s Zwei/Symphonic Heart or Runecraft Spellboost’s Anne & Grea, keep Phildau, Lionheart Ward and focus on removing enemy threats so you don’t get overwhelmed.
Keep vs. Matchups With Heavy Board Presence

Against decks that flood the board, such as Evolution Swordcraft or Earth Rite Runecraft, keep Milteo & Luzen. It can answer a powerful board with a single card, including problematic setups led by cards like Norman, Adamant Alchemist.
How to Counter the Shakdoh Abysscraft
Swarm the Field to Drain Their Hand

The success of Shakdoh, Nightblossom’s ability depends on how many cards your opponent is holding. Before you hit 10 Play Points, keep calling strong followers to the field to force your opponent to use up their cards to stop you. This keeps their hand size small and makes Shakdoh’s big move much weaker.
Aim to Finish the Game Before Turn 10

Shakdoh Abysscraft is a deck that tries to win in a single burst using Shakdoh’s Fanfare and Super-Evolution damage on Turn 10. Your best bet is to play aggressively and find your window before they even get the chance to play her.
Stop Their Healing by Clearing the Field

This deck relies on "Drain" to stay alive, so you can stop them from healing by making sure they have nothing to hit. For example, if you have lethal ready with the 12 damage from an Enhanced Albert, make sure your side of the field is empty so they can't heal back up before your next turn.
Keep Your DP at 17 or higher
Between her Fanfare and her Super-Evolution effect, Shakdoh can deal a massive 16 damage in one turn. You can stay safe and avoid lethal by making sure your leader's health stays at 17 or higher.
