Destroy Portalcraft Deck - How to Play

Play Followers and Prepare Targets to Destroy

In the early game, play followers like Lovestruck Puppeteer and Puppet Lancer, and gather cards that you can safely destroy using Devastating Soprano and Wasteland of Destruction.

Draw Fresh Cards to Find Your Best Tools

While playing your followers, use World of Games and Wasteland of Destruction to draw new cards, and try to find important pieces like Lishenna, Melody Manifest, Imari, Dewdrop, and Axia, Heir to Destruction. With World of Games in particular, you can use spells that destroy your own cards to skip its countdown and draw fresh cards even faster!

Play White Psalm and Black Psalm

From the middle turns onward, your main goal is to get 3 copies of White Psalm or Black Psalm onto the field using Lishenna's Evolution or the Devastating Soprano spell. Playing Imari, Dewdrop is a huge help here because she lets you search your deck for a spell, making it much easier to find and play Devastating Soprano.

Use Devastating Soprano on Puppets or Amulets

Using Devastating Soprano to destroy one of your regular followers will slow you down too much. Instead, you can easily avoid this downside by using it on free Puppet tokens or Amulets that have 'Last Words' abilities when they are destroyed.

Wipe Out Enemies and Stall for Time

From the middle to the late game, use cards like Imari, Dewdrop and Congregant of Destruction to completely focus on wiping out the enemy army and dragging the game out. By stalling for time, you can safely hide behind your Amulets and let their 'Last Words' effects slowly chip away at the opponent while keeping your own health high.

Unleash Massive Damage with Axia

Once you are allowed to use Super-Evolutions, use Axia, Heir to Destruction to destroy your own cards and unleash a massive attack. If you are facing an opponent who doesn't have many ways to heal themselves, it is a fantastic idea to repeatedly play Axia and Odin, Twilit Fate to completely overwhelm their health.

Win the Game with Orchis in Puppet Decks

If you are playing the Puppet version of this deck, you can also use Orchis, Newfound Heart to win the game. Because she can take down the opponent in a single turn if you play her after Beelzebub, Supreme King, you can completely surprise opponents who expect a normal defensive strategy and strike the final blow!

Transform Your Psalms into Imps with Sincerity of the Dewdrop

Normally, your main game plan is to win using the damage from your White and Black Psalms. However, in the Puppet version of the deck, magically transforming your own Psalms into little Imps using Sincerity of the Dewdrop is a brilliant trick! Not only does this add attackers to your side of the field, but it also frees up valuable space so you have plenty of room to play Orchis's Puppets!

Mulligan Guide for the Destroy Portalcraft

Keep World of Games, Lishenna, Melody Manifest, and 2-Cost Followers

In your mulligan, keep World of Games for steady card draw, Lishenna, Melody Manifest to create White Psalm, New Revelation, and 2‑Cost Followers to make sure you can play cards early.

Destruction Cards Paired with World of Games and Puppetry Followers

If you already have World of Games, Lovestruck Puppeteer, or Puppet Lancer, it’s a good idea to keep Wasteland of Destruction or Devastating Soprano so you can destroy World of Games or your Puppets.

How to Counter the Destroy Portalcraft

Keep Filling the Board with Your Followers

When playing against Destruction Portalcraft, always focus on keeping your side of the field full of attackers. Your opponent will often use an Evolution on Imari, Dewdrop to wipe out your army. If you anticipate this and play a card that deals 3 damage to all enemies at once like Salefa, Guardian of Water or Izmir, Frigid Fate right after, you can easily take back control of the game!

Protect Your Leader from Odin, Twilit Fate

Swarming the table with followers is also incredibly important right before your opponent has enough Play Points for Odin, Twilit Fate. Because Odin's "Banish" effect completely removes just one single follower, having an army of low-cost attackers in play is much safer than relying on one high cost follower. This makes it incredibly hard for Odin to smash through and hit your leader directly.

Force Them to Hold Onto Devastating Soprano

When a Destruction Portalcraft player uses the Devastating Soprano spell without having Imari ready, they will have a really hard time defending themselves from your attacks, giving you a massive opening. If you keep flooding the board with followers early on, your opponent will be forced to waste their best cards just to survive, completely stopping them from safely playing Devastating Soprano.

Build an Army That Lishenna Can't Defeat

Try to put together an attacking force that Lishenna, Melody Manifest simply cannot handle, which will discourage your opponent from playing her at all. If the opponent only has 4 Play Points, Lishenna can only destroy a single follower. Even if they wait until 5 Play Points to combo her with the Melodious Monody spell, you can cause a huge headache for them by flooding the field with a mix of tiny attackers alongside one tough monster that has 5 or more health.

Banish Their Psalms with Sincerity or Odin

Using spells like Sincerity of the Dewdrop or Odin, Twilit Fate to completely "Banish" their White Psalm or Black Psalm is a brilliant defensive trick. Because this completely stops their healing and prevents them from dealing free damage to you, you drastically slow down their winning combo while giving yourself plenty of time to strike the final blow!
