Featured Card Analysis

Winged Servants- Makes it much easier to attack aggressively if you play it on turn 2.
- You can easily heal back the damage you take from the Serpent God by using a Bat's "Drain" ability.
- Gives you a perfect follower to Super-Evolve, which is normally quite hard to do after playing Milteo & Luzen.
Shadowcrypt Memorial- Helps you build up a constant source of damage on your side of the table.
- Also gives you a great target for a Super-Evolution, which is usually tricky to pull off after Milteo & Luzen hit the table.
Aragavy, Eternal Hunter- Fantastic for wiping out multiple enemies at once, something a single Reaper's Deathslash struggles to do.
- The perfect answer when your opponent Evolves their Althenia.
- You can also Evolve him yourself to deal massive damage!

Alernate Cards

Muddled Onlooker
- Guarantees you get at least 1 damage in.
- Acts as a great extra attacker if Milteo & Luzen magically bring him back from the graveyard using "Reanimate."
Mukan, Shadowcrypt Ward
- Lets you use speedy Ghost tokens to wipe out enemy attackers.
- Her special ability still works perfectly even after Milteo & Luzen use their main effect!
Yuna, Occult Hunter
- Great for grabbing the exact cards you need to play right after dropping Milteo & Luzen.
- Just be careful, as she makes it very easy to accidentally draw too many cards and overflow your hand!
Odin, Twilit Fate
- An incredible finishing card to seal the win if your early attacks went well.
- Keep in mind that his "Fanfare" will not trigger if Milteo & Luzen automatically summon him onto the table!

Chip Away at Defense with Direct Damage and Auto‑Evolved Storm

Milteo Abysscraft is a combo deck that finishes the game by using Storm followers that automatically evolve through Milteo & Luzen’s Crest effect, along with direct burn damage. In the late game, it can unleash a huge burst of damage in a single turn, which makes it a fantastic deck that has explosive finishing power.

Milteo Abysscraft Deck - How to Play

Attack Aggressively from the Very Beginning

Play an Attacker on Turn 1

On turn 1, try to immediately play a follower and attack the enemy leader. If you are going second, you can use your Bonus Play Point alongside another 1-cost card to play Monster Litterateur as a massive 2/2 attacker on your very first turn, which is an incredibly powerful start!

Keep the Pressure High from Turn 2 Onward

Great Cards for Turn 2 and Beyond
Winged ServantsWinged ServantsCastle of EntwiningCastle of EntwiningGhastly SoireeGhastly Soiree

Keep attacking relentlessly as the game continues. Flood the table with Winged Servants, or magically power up your attackers using Castle of Entwining to quickly chunk down the enemy's health. If you have an awkward starting hand, it is a great idea to draw fresh cards using Ghastly Soiree to perfectly set up your attacks for turn 3 and beyond.

Play World of Games with Leftover Play Points

Whenever you have extra Play Points and can't play any more attackers, use World of Games. While swarming the table with followers is your top priority for an aggressive strategy, doing *only* that will quickly empty your hand. Because of this, playing World of Games is crucial to make sure you never run out of attacks.

Keep Attacking While Wiping Out Enemy Defenders in the Mid-Game

Play Attackers While Destroying the Enemy's Army

During the middle turns, keep up your assault while making sure to wipe out the opponent's followers. Destroy their defenders using cards like Bibatii, Eld Sight or Ghost Dodger, and Evolve your own followers to keep hitting the enemy leader. Aragavy, Eternal Hunter is truly exceptional because he can wipe out multiple enemies and deal massive damage when he Evolves.

Sneak in a Memorial to Set Up Your Final Attack

Always keep your eyes open for a safe moment to play Shadowcrypt Memorial, like when the enemy's side of the table is completely empty, or right before you unleash Milteo & Luzen. It is a good way to spend a leftover Evolution Point. Plus, any Memorial you have in play instantly turns into 5 free damage, making it the perfect piece for a massive one-turn combo!

Use Reaper's Deathslash to Easily Destroy Giants

Reaper's Deathslash is an incredible spell that lets you sacrifice one of your tiny followers to destroy a massive enemy threat. You will usually sacrifice a Ghost or a follower you already Super-Evolved. However, a brilliant trick is intentionally sacrificing your own followers to completely empty your side of the table, making it impossible for the opponent to attack you and heal themselves with 'Drain'!

Finish Them Off in the Late Game

Super-Evolve Milteo & Luzen

In the late game, strike the final blow by Super-Evolving Milteo & Luzen. Because their ability magically turns every Ghost in your hand into 3 direct damage, you can easily blast away the opponent's remaining health. Just remember that Milteo & Luzen also have a fantastic ability to wipe out enemy defenders, so if you only have one copy, think carefully about the perfect moment to play it!

Unleash Every Ounce of Damage You Have

Cards That Blast the Leader
GhostGhostRage of SerpentsRage of SerpentsTyrannical FistsTyrannical Fists

Right after Super-Evolving Milteo & Luzen, unleash every single damage spell in your hand like Ghosts and Rage of Serpents to finish the game. If you are playing against an opponent who heals constantly, a fantastic strategy is to patiently hoard all your damage cards in your hand and then blast them for all their health in a single turn.

You Can Also Heal Yourself with Bats

Your main goal is always to attack, but sometimes taking a moment to heal yourself using a Bat is exactly what you need to win. This is incredibly helpful in situations like mirror matches where both players are racing to deal damage, or when you just need to survive one more turn so you can unleash your own massive combo.

Mulligan Guide for the Milteo Abysscraft

Keep 1-Cost Cards, Resources, and Milteo & Luzen

In your mulligan, your top priority should be keeping 1-cost cards you want to play on turn 1 and Milteo & Luzen. The ideal scenario is to develop followers on the board from the early game and smoothly transition into playing Milteo & Luzen.

If You Have the Above, Keep Cards to Fill Out Your Mana Curve

Ghastly SoireeGhastly SoireeGhost DodgerGhost Dodger

When you have already kept low-cost followers and Milteo & Luzen, keep cards you can play on turns 2-5 so you can continue to develop your board without skipping any plays.

How to Counter the Milteo Abysscraft

Stop Their Early Pressure

This deck likes to play followers like Lilith and Cultivator of Malice early on to chip away at your health. If you let these cards stick around, they can sometimes secure an early lethal. Keep the field under control by using your own low-cost followers and attack spells to take them down immediately.

Force Them to Waste Their Ghosts

If you can take the lead on the field, your opponent will be forced to use their Ghosts just to destroy your followers. Making them use Ghosts this way is great because it reduces the damage they can deal once Milteo & Luzen's Crest activates, which helps buy you time and delays their lethal turn.

Build a Strong Team After Milteo & Luzen Appear

Once your opponent evolves Milteo & Luzen, it’s your chance to build a powerful field with cards like Aether or Neptune. This deck mostly relies on Milteo & Luzen for their AoE (clearing the whole field). If they don't have a second copy ready, your team is much more likely to survive, giving you a clear path to victory.

Stop Them from Healing with Drain

A smart strategy is to build your field in a way that stops your opponent from healing. If you have big finishers in your hand like Killer Rhinoceroach or Sandalphon, you can intentionally leave your side of the field empty.

Make the Most of Intimidate Followers

Using followers with Intimidate is also very effective here. Your opponent won't be able to hit them with their Bats to heal, and they can only destroy them with a few specific cards like Reaper's Deathslash. If these followers stay on the field, they become massive threats that can end the game quickly.
