Ward Havencraft Deck - How to Play
Buy Time and Get Ready Early On

Ward Havencraft really takes off once you play Wilbert, Desolate Paladin. Because of this, you should spend your early turns playing Amulets and cheaper followers to organize your hand and put some early defenders on the field. Playing cards with the Crystallize ability is a great idea too.
Power Up Your Defenders with Sofina

You can use Sofina to evolve and power up the Ward followers you played on turn 2 or 3. This doesn't just give your early followers a huge boost, but it's also amazing because it helps charge up the Skybound Art abilities for the cards waiting in your hand.
Use Marwynn's Crest to Keep the Pressure On

Putting Marwynn's Crest into play is a fantastic move because it keeps damaging the enemy turn after turn. On top of that, the Torrent of Despair spell you get when he enters the game is a great, cheap way to knock out an enemy, meaning you can push through even more damage when you combine it with Sandalphon's Super Skybound Art.
Bring Out Wilbert

When you play and evolve Wilbert, Desolate Paladin, any Ward followers created by the Crest will get a massive boost to their strength and health. If you are going second, using an extra play point to bring him out on turn 5 will stop him from being removed by Odin, Twilit Fate before he can do his role.
Fill the Board with Defenders

Once Wilbert, Desolate Paladin is out, use Aether, Empyrean Guardian to flood your side of the field and overwhelm the opponent with incredibly tough Ward followers. If you super-evolve Aether, she teams up with the Crest to give your defenders 1 extra strength and 4 extra health! Plus, since she gains the Aura ability, you'll end up with a nearly unbreakable wall of defenders.
Make Your Defenders Even Stronger

Since your powered-up Ward followers are so hard to knock out, use Jeanne, Saintly Knight to give whatever followers are left another huge boost and immediately go on the attack.
Trap Your Opponent with Vira

Vira, Luminous Primal Knight is an incredible follower who can win you the game if the enemy can't figure out how to take her down. If you play her when her Super Skybound Art is fully charged and the opponent is completely out of evolution points, she becomes extremely hard to knock out and will almost certainly stick around.
Win the Game with Sandalphon

If your surviving followers aren't quite enough to win the match, go for the final blow using Sandalphon, Primarch Successor. Because Sofina, Inspiring Strength makes it so much easier to get lots of evolutions early on, you can finish off the enemy leader much faster than you used to be able to.
Mulligan Guide for the Ward Havencraft
Keep Serene Sanctuary and Crest Cards
Grimnir, Heavenly Gale, helps you set up a huge super-evolution turn. Marwynn, Despair Manifest, is perfect for buying time when you don't have much else to play, and Wilbert, Desolate Paladin, heavily powers up your defending followers, are all great cards to hold onto in your opening hand. Serene Sanctuary, which lets you draw extra cards to find these key pieces, is also a must-keep.
Keep Aether as a Pair

If you already have a Crest card in your opening hand, hold onto Aether, Empyrean Guardian as well. Because playing Aether right after activating Wilbert, Desolate Paladin's Crest is one of the absolute best moves you can make with this deck, it's highly recommended to keep both cards together so you are ready to pull off that exact play.
How to Counter the Ward Havencraft
Dealing with Ward Followers

Ward Havencraft plays many low‑cost Ward followers from the start of the match. Galleon, Earth Personified has especially high stats, so keep 5‑damage answers like Resolve of the Mistbloom or Valse, Silent Sniper in your hand to remove it safely.
Make Them Spend an Evolution on Salefa

If you put several low‑cost followers on the field, your opponent will often evolve Salefa to clear them. Once they spend their Evolution Point this way, you can take the lead by playing strong cards like Zwei, Symphonic Heart or Anne & Grea, Mysterian Duo on your next turn.
Banish or Transform Wilbert

Wilbert, Desolate Paladin has a dangerous Last Words effect, but it becomes much weaker if you banish or transform it. Save banish cards like Velharia, Heir to Truth or Odin, Twilit Fate or transform cards like Sincerity of the Dewdrop specifically for Wilbert
Keep Cards to Deal with Aether

Aether, Empyrean Guardian creates a very strong field when played. Removal cards like Filene, Whitefrost Bloom or Unholy Vessel work well here. Clearing everything prevents Jeanne, Saintly Knight from buffing the board and stops their finishing setup
Keep Cards to Destroy Vira

Vira, Luminous Primal Knight is a threat that can take over the game if ignored. Remove it with transform effects like Sincerity of the Dewdrop or destruction cards such as De La Fille’s Gleaming Gems.
Build a Field That Makes It Hard for Sandalphon to Get Through

Ward Havencraft sometimes includes Sandalphon, Primarch Successor in the deck as a finisher. Counter this by deploying followers with high defense in the late game to build a field that makes it difficult for Sandalphon's damage to get through to your leader.
Calculate the Turn Super Skybound Art Activates
Super Skybound Art cannot be activated if the sum of your evolution count and the opponent's turn number is 14 or less. If you calculate that the total will not reach 15 even with evolutions during that turn, you won't have to worry about taking lethal damage from Sandalphon's Super Skybound Art, even if your field becomes weaker.
