Ward Havencraft - How to Play
Stall for Turns to Set Up the Early Game
Ward Havencraft shows its true potential after playing Wilbert, Desolate Paladin. So, in the early game, play low-cost followers and amulets to set up your hand and field.
Play Wilbert, Desolate Paladin
By playing and evolving Wilbert, Desolate Paladin, Ward followers that come into play via Crests will be buffed. To set this up perfectly, you need a Pact of the Beast Princess or Dose of Holiness on the board beforehand.
Develop a Ward Field
After playing Wilbert, Desolate Paladin, follow up with Aether, Empyrean Guardian to blanket your opponent with your enhanced followers. By Super-Evolving Aether, Empyrean Guardian, your Ward followers will get +1/+4 in combination with the Crest, and since she also gains Aura, you can create an extremely strong field.
Further Strengthening Your Field
Buffed Ward followers are likely to stay on the field, so you can press the offensive by enhancing your remaining followers using Olivia, Heroic Dark Angel or Jeanne, Saintly Knight.
Overwhelm Opponents by Continuously Buffing Followers
Keep the pressure on by steadily building up your board and enduring your opponent's removal cards. Try to time your plays wisely by enhancing followers on the turn Pact of the Beast Princess is destroyed, or by buffing them using Jeanne, Saintly Knight.
Mulligan Guide for the Ward Havencraft
Keep Wilbert, Desolate Paladin Plus Low-Cost Cards
Wilbert, Desolate Paladin is a core card of the Deck, so you should always keep it. Moreover, it's recommended to keep 1-2 low-cost Followers or Amulets to fill out your early game plays.
Make Good Early Plays By Keeping Aether, Empyrean Guardian + Wilbert, Desolate Paladin
If you’ve got two cards that you can play in the early game and Wilbert, Desolate Paladin is in your opening hand, holding onto Aether, Empyrean Guardian is a good idea since it sets you up for a strong curve down the line.
Keep Salefa, Guardian of Water Against Board-Flooding Decks
When you're up against decks that flood the board early, Salefa, Guardian of Water will be worth keeping during the prep phase.
