Battle Strategy Against Lugia

Best Pokemon To Use Vs. Lugia (Gengar)

A Gengar that is equipped with Legacy Moves such as Shadow Claw or Lick can be very powerful against Lugia. However, stay cautious as Gengar can easily be knocked out by Psychic attacks.

If Tyranitar Is In Recommended Pokemon, Lugia Has Psychic Moves

Check the recommended Pokemon list when your first enter the raid lobby. If Tyranitar is part of the list, don't bring your Gengar as Lugia will have Psychic attacks that will instantly take it down.

Use Tyranitar To Counter Psychic Type Moves

Tyranitar doesn't receive that much damage when hit with Psychic attacks, making it a great counter for Lugia's moves. Always include a Tyranitar in your party when challenging Lugia in a raid battle.

Bring Electric Types To Battle Lugia

Since Lugia is also a Flying Type Pokemon, it is weak to Electric attacks. Strong Pokemon such as Raikou, Zapdos, Electivire, and even Jolteon can use this advantage to bring down Lugia's health.
