Step 1: Make Eevee Your Buddy Pokemon
The first step is to make the Eevee you want to evolve your buddy Pokemon. You need to keep Eevee your buddy until you are able to evolve it to Espeon or Umbreon.
Step 2: Walk 10KM With Eevee As Buddy
While Eevee is your buddy Pokemon, you need to walk with it for 10 kilometers. You can track how far you've walked by checking the bar/number at the bottom of the screen!
Go Beyond 10KM To Ensure Proper Evolution
Be sure to go beyond the required 10 kilometers needed to evolve your Eevee to Espeon or Umbreon. This makes sure you are doing the process properly.
Step 3: Evolve During Day/Night For Espeon/Umbreon
You need to choose the time of day to evolve your Eevee in order to get Espeon or Umbreon. Eevee will only evolve into Espeon during the day, while Umbreon will only show up at night.
Don't Remove Eevee As Buddy When Evolving
When you're ready to evolve your Eevee, make sure to keep it as your buddy Pokemon! This will make sure that the evolving trick will work.
Avoid Evolving During Early Morning Or Early Evening
To ensure you get the Eevee evolution you want, it's best to avoid early morning or evening. Avoid 4:00AM - 7:00AM for Espeon and 5:00PM - 8:00PM for Umbreon.
