Rose Town Walkthrough

This is a guide for Rose Town in Super Mario RPG Remake. It covers how to find hidden treasure chests in Rose Town, how to get the item shop treasure chest, and sub-events.

Rose Town Walkthrough Chart

Enter the Inn and Watch the Event

Enter the town and go to the "Inn" on the left. An event will occur when you enter. If you join Gaz's doll play, you will stay overnight, and Geno will head to the Forest Maze.

Re-enter the Inn and Stay

If you go outside and re-enter, you can stay overnight. This is an event that only occurs at this timing, and after staying, you can get a "Flower Capsule" from Toad.

Buy Equipment at the Item Shop

New equipment is sold at the item shop, so buy armor for Mario and Mallow.

Status Ailment Countermeasure

The number of enemies using troublesome status ailments will gradually increase, so it's a good idea to buy accessories for status ailments other than poison if you have enough coins.

Hear the Hint for the Hidden Room at the House on the Cliff

You can enter the house on the cliff by using the head of the nearby Toad as a foothold. If you press the switch on the 2nd floor and help the owner, you can hear a hint for a hidden room in the Forest Maze. However, if you proceed without helping the owner using the method described later, you can get more Flowers.

Treasure Chest Contents Change

The contents of some treasure chests in the house and the Forest Maze change depending on whether the owner enters after you press the button. If you don't need to hear the hint, it's recommended to open the treasure chest in the house and go to the Forest Maze without pressing the button, as you can get 5 Flowers.

How to Get the Item Shop Treasure Chest

Climb the Wooden Boxes Next to the Item Shop

There are wooden boxes stacked next to the item shop, so climb the boxes and enter the chimney.

The Treasure Chest on Top of the Bookshelf Can Be Opened

If you enter through the chimney, you will fall onto the bookshelf inside the house. Open the treasure chest to get a Flower.

How to Get to the Planter's House

Can Be Opened After Clearing Nimbus Land

This treasure chest can be opened after clearing Nimbus Land. The procedure is complicated, so check carefully.

Obtain "Fertilizer" and "Seed"

You will need "Fertilizer" and "Seed" to proceed with the event to open the treasure chest.

How to Get Seed

The seed can be obtained along with a memo dropped by Beezo after defeating Megasmilax.

How to Get Fertilizer

It can be obtained from Beezo after crossing the invisible floor on the right side of Nimbus Land.

Talk to the Mouse on the 2nd Floor of the Monstro Town House

If you talk to the mouse on the 2nd floor of the house in Monstro Town, you can hear information about the Planter who moved to Rose Town.

Enter the Planter's House in Rose Town

A new path has appeared in Rose Town. Follow the path to find the Planter's house, so go inside.

Give "Fertilizer" and "Seed" to the Resident

If you give "Fertilizer" and "Seed" to the Planter, a giant vine will grow.

Obtain at the Top of the Vine

There are two treasure chests at the top of the vine that appears. You can get the weapon "Lazy Shell" from the right chest and the armor "Lazy Shell" from the left chest.

Sub-events and Trivia

Stay at the Inn to Get a Flower Capsule

After visiting the inn for the first time, re-enter and stay overnight, and Toad will appear. Talk to him to receive a "Flower Capsule". Note that this will not occur after defeating Bowyer.

Get Geno's Weapon

Geno is not equipped with a weapon when he joins, so be sure to get it.

Link Appears in the Inn

When you wake up, "Link," the protagonist of The Legend of Zelda, is sleeping next to you. If you examine him, you can hear the familiar BGM from the Zelda series.

Treasure Chest Event at the House on the Cliff

Pressing the switch on the 2nd floor makes stairs appear outside, and the owner comes up. The contents of the treasure chest in the house and the hidden treasure chest in the Forest Maze change depending on whether you open the treasure chest before or after the owner arrives.

The Owner Tells You About the Hidden Room in the Forest Maze

After helping the owner, he will tell you how to get to the hidden room in the Forest Maze. In the hidden room, there are a total of 5 treasure chests, including the ones mentioned above.

Planter's House Appears

Give "Seed" and "Fertilizer" to the owner of the Planter's house to trigger an event. Climb the vine that appears to get the "Lazy Shell" above the clouds.

Flag Hunt (Rose Town)

Appears after resting in the bed in Monstro Town. You can get it by checking behind the wooden flower sign near the entrance of Rose Town.
