Sunken Ship Walkthrough and Password

Proceed to the Door in the Back Left

Upon entering the Sunken Ship, first proceed to the door in the back left. There's a save block in the room to the back right, so you might want to save.

Proceed to the Back Door

Proceed to the back of the room where the Shy Ranger is.

Proceed Further In

Proceed through the door at the back of the room with the Shy Ranger and Dry Bones. Dry Bones can only be defeated with magic attacks, so avoid fighting them if you want to conserve FP.

Go Down the Stairs

Go down the stairs where the Chewy (mouse) is and proceed ahead to get coins from the treasure chest. There is a Flower between the wooden boxes before the stairs, so be sure to get it.

1st Hint Room

In the first hint room, you need to guide the Sky Troopa and drop a cannonball onto the switch. You can drop it successfully by going to the back from the left side of the wooden box, then moving to the right side and coming forward.

2nd Hint Room

In the second hint room, you need to press the switch on the wooden box to stop the trampoline and place a cannonball on the switch. Refer to the image for the position to stop the trampoline.

3rd Hint Room: 3D Maze

In the third room, you need to navigate a 3D maze and press a switch. This is the most difficult of the hint rooms and is very challenging. If you get stuck, you can give up by pressing the - button.

Defeat Dry Bones and Get Coins from the Treasure Chest

Proceed further in to find a treasure chest. There is a Dry Bones nearby, so defeat it once and get the coins from the treasure chest. If the Dry Bones revives, defeat it again and proceed.

There is a Shop

If you talk to the monster in the same room, it will sell you equipment and items. Stock up on any items you need.

4th Hint Room

In the 4th hint room, you need to keep collecting the moving coins. The coins disappear after a certain time, so collect them quickly. Also, note that if you collect the first coin, the hint will not appear.

5th Hint Room

In the 5th hint room, you need to jump and hit the wooden box with a cannonball. Pushing the lower wooden box on the left side of the room will fire a cannonball. You need to hit it consecutively, so move with good rhythm.

6th Hint Room

For the 6th hint, you need to keep two switches pressed. Jump on the differently colored barrel in the upper right to make it fall, then move it to a switch, and have Mario step on the remaining one.

Enter the Keyword

Entering the six keywords will open the door to proceed. Once you've set the keywords, examine the speaking tube (metal tube).

Fight Tentacles and Inky

Proceeding through the door will lead to a fight with Tentacles. After fighting the Tentacles twice, Inky will appear and the battle will begin.

Proceed from the Second Floor

After defeating Inky, proceed from the trampoline room and enter the door on the second floor. There is nothing particular beyond the door on the first floor, so there is no need to go there.

Avoid Killers and Proceed

After proceeding through the door, avoid the fired Killers and go to the back. If you are hit by a Killer and fall, you will need to go to the second floor again.

Go Down the Stairs

Go down the stairs in the room with the Chewy and proceed.

Get the Treasure Chests

Proceeding further, there are two treasure chests on top of wooden boxes. You can get the treasure chests by getting on the barrel in the back and then onto the wooden boxes.

Avoid Fake Mario and Proceed

Proceeding through the door will make Fake Mario appear. Talking to him will trigger a battle with enemy monsters and Fake Mario will disappear, so try not to talk to him.

There is a Hidden Treasure Chest

There is a wooden box near the center; hitting it will reveal a treasure chest. Get on Fake Mario to hit the treasure chest. You can get on Fake Mario by dashing and jumping.

What if you defeat Fake Mario?

If you defeat Fake Mario, he will not respawn unless you leave the Sunken Ship once. Even if you flee after entering battle, he will disappear, so in this case too, you need to go outside once to make him reappear.

Enter the Hidden Room and Then Go Down the Stairs

There is a hidden door behind the left wooden box, and entering it will allow you to obtain a Frog Coin. Go down the stairs beyond the door and proceed.

Get a Mushroom from the Treasure Chest

You can get a Mushroom from the treasure chest on the left side of the room. It can restore health, so be sure to get it. There is also a save block, so save your game.

Amanita is Here

Amanita will appear from the treasure chest in the back. Defeating it will give you a Safety Badge, so you'll want to fight it. However, Amanita is strong, so be sure to save.

Enter the Whirlpool and Go Left

Follow the path, enter the whirlpool, and go left to get a Frog Coin. Then return to the whirlpool room, proceed through the door, and go down the stairs.

Get on the Barrel and Proceed

There is a door to proceed if you get on the barrel on the right side of the room with Inky.

Get the Safety Ring

There is a hidden door on the left side of the room with Inky, and beyond it is the Safety Ring. It prevents instant death and status ailments, so equipping it on Peach will make healing easier and give you an advantage in battle.

Fight Bandana Red

Proceeding further will lead to two fights with Bandana Red. They are not strong, so defeat them with normal attacks.

Fight Jonathan

After defeating Bandana Red, proceeding further will lead to a battle with the boss, Jonathan. He is a tough enemy, so prepare thoroughly.
