Country Road - Hidden Treasure Chests

Enter the Cannon and Get on the Ledge Above

After entering Country Road, get into the cannon to reach the ledge above. Pay attention to the cannon's direction when you press the button.

Hidden Treasure Chest in Area 1

Get on the yellow platform. Facing the area exit, jump towards the upper left to make a hidden treasure chest appear.

Area 2: Jump into the Hole

In Area 2, use the cannon to move again. Jumping into the hole in the rock face will cause three Spikeys to jump out. You'll have to fight them when you exit, so defeat them and proceed.

Cross the Ledges to Proceed

You can reach the next area by crossing the ledges. The ledges are narrow, and enemy monsters are fired from cannons, so fight your way across.

If You Fall, Use the Cannon to Go Up

If you fall, you can get back on the ledges by entering the nearest cannon. There are enemy monsters, so be careful not to touch them.

Ride the Flowers Upwards

Ride the rotating flowers to go up. If the rotating flower is facing the wrong direction, you'll go to a different place, so jump when it's facing the ledges.

There's a Hidden Treasure Chest

There's a hidden treasure chest where three blue flowers are lined up. Jump between the middle and right flowers.

Cross the Donut Block Bridge

Cross the Donut Block Bridge to reach the next area. You can try the minigame here.

Flower Capsule in the Tree's Shadow

Go down from the Donut Blocks; there's a passage in the tree's shadow. A Flower Capsule is there, so pick it up.

Enter the Whirlpool with Ants

When you arrive in the desert area, enter the whirlpool with ants. You'll need to fight, so be prepared. Enter the ant whirlpool 4 times to get to the next area.

You Can't Enter by Fleeing

If you flee from the battle with the ants, you cannot enter the whirlpool. Make sure to defeat them and proceed.

Go Back One Area

If you enter a whirlpool without ants, you'll return to the previous area. Enter the whirlpool with ants again.

Get the Star and Defeat Enemies as You Go

In the next area, you can get a Star from a treasure chest right after entering. There are many enemies around, so defeat them as you proceed.

You Can Buy a Star Where You Fall Down

In the area where you fall, a character hidden in the shadow of a wooden box will sell you a Star for 400 coins. This area also has many enemy monsters, so if you have enough coins, consider buying it. Proceeding to the next area will take you to Belome Temple.

Can Be Purchased Twice

After buying the Star, if you talk to them again, they will go look for another Star. When you visit again, they will sell it to you for 800 coins, but it's expensive, so there's no need to force the purchase.

To Monstermama's House

After clearing Belome Temple in the story, go to Monstro Town. Once in Monstro Town, go to Monstermama's house and talk to her to trigger the Koopa Paratroopa event.

Enter the Ant Whirlpool in the Desert 4 Times

Just like when going to Belome Temple, go to the desert in Country Road and enter the whirlpool with Ant Lions 4 times.

Take the Upper Left Path to the Cliff

After entering 4 times, you'll reach a map with a path in the upper left. Follow it to reach the Koopa Paratroopa Cliff.

Proceed Down from the Second Save Point

Proceed to the second save point in Country Road, and instead of going up the steps on the main path, go right along the ground below.

Proceed to the End of the Next Area

Follow the path to the end in the next area as well.

Jump When Smoke Comes from the Rock Hole

At the end, there's a rock with a hole in it. Jump into this hole. You can enter by jumping the moment smoke comes out of the hole.

Follow the Path Through the Cave

Once inside, follow the path. It's a bit winding but a single path, so you won't get lost. There's a jump pad at the end, so use it.

There's a Hidden Treasure Chest on the Way

There's a hidden treasure chest before the stairs at the far end of the first hidden area. It contains a Frog Coin, so be sure to open it.

Arrive at Kero Sewers

Exiting the pipe leads to Kero Sewers. The treasure chest across the platforms contains "Cricket Jam".

Be Careful Not to Fall

Be careful not to fall before opening the treasure chest. If you do fall, don't rush to change areas; instead, return to the title screen from the system menu. Your autosave should be intact, so loading it will return you to where you exited the pipe.

Give it to Frogfucius at Tadpole Pond

If you give "Cricket Jam" to Frogfucius at Tadpole Pond, you'll receive 10 Frog Coins.
