Walkthrough for Your First Visit
Step on the Stone in Front of the Lake and Talk to the Tadpole
When you enter the area and go straight, there's a stone embedded in front of the lake. Standing there will initiate a conversation with a tadpole, and showing them a jump will lead to a conversation with the Frog Sage.
Cross Over the Tadpoles
Tadpoles will appear in the lake, so cross over them. After finishing your conversation with the Frog Sage in the back, you'll be able to proceed to the next destination, Rose Town.
Get Mallow's Weapon
If you've obtained the 'Cricket Cracker' from the item shop in Mushroom Kingdom, you can get Mallow's weapon, the 'Froggie Stick,' by talking to the Frog Sage. Be sure to get it to strengthen Mallow.
Melody Bay Can Be Played on the Right Side of the Area
If you go to the right side of the area, you can play the minigame 'Tadpole Composition (Melody Bay).' Completing it will reward you with a card that increases the items available for purchase at the Juice Bar.
Ask the Tadpole What to Play
From the tadpole on the way to where Toadofsky is, you can hear what kind of music Toadofsky desires.
Exit the Area and Head to Rose Way
Return to the World Map from the entrance of Tadpole Pond and head to the next area, 'Rose Way'.
Walkthrough After Peach Joins in Mushroom Kingdom
Talk to the Frog Sage
After Princess Peach joins your party in Mushroom Kingdom, go to Tadpole Pond and talk to the Frog Sage. He will tell you that the next place to go is 'Star Hill'.
Head to Star Hill
After talking to the Frog Sage, 'To Star Hill' will appear beyond 'Marrymore' on the World Map. Head to Star Hill from here.
Get the Cricket Cracker
If you talk to the Frog Sage and still can't proceed, it's possible you haven't completed the event of giving him the Cricket Cracker. First, go to the item shop in Mushroom Kingdom, get the Cricket Cracker, and then return.
