Increases Situational & Map Awareness
With the Spotter Perk, enemy-owned equipment, field upgrades, and killstreaks can be marked down for your whole team. It also helps that you will be able to view enemy traps and placements through walls.
Hack Enemy Explosives
Spotter perk lets you Hack enemy Claymores, Proximity Mines, C4, and Trophy Systems, turning their weapons against them.

To hack enemy explosives, go up to it from behind and complete the button prompt. Hacking takes several seconds where you will be unable to move or use your weapons.
Can Also Hack Through Walls
Spotter also lets you hack equipment through walls. Use it to surprise campers that's camping in buildings easier.

Provide Info To Your Team
It pays to have one of your team equip the Spotter Perk as it can provide invaluable information about enemy traps and killstreaks. This allows your team to either avoid or destroy them.
Aim Down Sights To Mark
Note that you have to aim down sights to mark enemy equipment and field upgrades.
Use With Stealth Perks
You can combo this perk with Ghost and either Cold-Blooded or E.O.D. to sneak across enemy lines and mark traps.
Hacking Required For many Challenges
Many challenges requires an amount of hacks to move on. Remember to switch to Spotter perk when attempting them.

Use With E.O.D To Counter Lethals
With Spotter, you can easily see enemy claymores and proximity mines, and with E.O.D. perk, you can hack them to turn them against your enemies.
Sneak & Scout For Your Team
You can use Cold-Blooded and Ghost to make yourself invisible to enemy radar, and with the Spotter perk, you can sneak and mark enemy equipment to inform your team.
