Role Matchups and Weaknesses
Damage Depends on Matchups

Each character is designated to a Role, and the damage they deal and receive in battle changes based on the matchup. This is a crucial element that affects everything from deciding which characters to invest in, to your actual party formation in battle, so be sure to understand matchups well.
Matchup Multipliers
Advantage | - Damage +30% - Damage Received -30% |
Disadvantage | - Damage -30% - Damage Received +30% |
If an advantageous role attacks another character, the total damage dealt is increased by 30% and vice versa. Therefore, it becomes very tough with -30% damage dealt when a disadvantaged Role attacks.
Special Watcher and Destroyer Relationship
Watchers deal increased damage against Destroyers, however, a Watchers' base stats are slightly lower compared to all roles, while Destroyer's have slightly higher stats compared to all roles, therefore the matchup balances out.
5 Role Types
There are a total of 5 Roles, and each has its own strengths and weaknesses. Defenders, Seekers, and Breakers have a rock-paper-scissors relationship, while Watchers have no disadvantages and is unilaterally advantageous against Destroyer. Note that while Destroyers do not directly counter any role, this means they are also consistently effective against any role other than Watchers. If you also take their increased base stats into account, Destroyers are a Role that can work in almost any situation.
Things to Note About Role Matchups
Train Characters from All Roles
If you train too many characters of the same Role, you will eventually face difficult situations in battles against many enemies that have a Role advantage. Therefore, it is important to train characters of various Roles so that you can fight advantageously no matter the situation.
Adjust Party Formation as Needed
When selecting your party members, consider things like which enemy Roles are most numerous, which Roles are in which locations, and which characters to send against them. Even though the battle may not go according to plan, being mindful of the characters you deploy will allow you to maneuver advantageously.
Mind Your Positioning
During battle, always be conscious of where you're moving your units to maintain a combat advantage. Especially in PvE content, it is important to position your characters while being mindful the enemy's movement range and Skills to prevent them from gaining the upperhand.
Advantages can Bridge Power Gaps

By fighting with role advantage, the increases in damage dealt, and decreases in damage received can allow you to overcome slight Power differences in things like Level and Gear. Conversely, be aware that even if your Power is higher, you may get killed when taking a disadvantageous fight.
