Agata Pros and Strength

Versatile Attacker

Sword of Convallaria - Agata Banner

Agata is a versatile character that has an excellent movement range, high survivability, and significant damage potential. She also has access to the Wound debuff, multiple recovery skills, and Piercing DMG, making her useful in any content within the game.

Extremely Mobile

Sword of Convallaria - Agata Movement Range

At ★5, Agata gains +2 Movement as well as [Jump] and [Climb] from her Trait. Furthermore, if the effects from [Taste of Prey] are active, she gains an additional +2 Movement. This combination of bonuses allows Agata to easily weave through the battlefield with a total movement range of 7 tiles.

Applies Wounds to Increase Damage

Wound Effects
1Increase non-percentage Piercing damage taken by 12% per stack, and reduces healing received by 30% per stack.
2Before attacking, Agata's physical damage dealt increases by 5% per stack of Wound on her target.
3After attacking, Agata deals Piercing DMG equal to 4% (10% at ★5) of her HP per stack of Wound on the target up to 2 times per round.
4At ★5, Agata gains Armor-Piercing against targets with Wound stacks.

Agata's Trait allows her attacks to inflict the Wound status effect, which can stack up to 4 times. Each Wound stack reduces the amount of healing the target receives, as well as increases the amount of Piercing DMG that they take while also increasing Agata's offensive capabilities.

Highly Durable

Agata has multiple sources of survivability from her Trait, RK3 [Silver Severing], and various recovery skills, and a high base HP. Additionally, HP increases Agata's Piercing damage, so by gearing her towards HP, you can subsequently increase her damage output.

Star Level Up Priority & Recommended Stars for Agata

Aim to Reach 3★ → 5★

Star Level Up PriorityRecommended Star Level
SS Tier3★ → 5★

Star level ups don't necessarily change how Agata plays, however, increasing her to 3 and 5-stars massively increase her potency as a DPS. At 3-stars, she gains increased movement, and at 5-stars, she gains powerful effects like Climb & Jump, even more movement, and even [Armor Piercing]. Aim for 3-stars first, and then work towards 5-stars if you intend on using Agata as a main DPS.

Priority Skills

SkillPriority and Details
The Queen's AnnouncementThe Queen's Announcement★★★★★
A powerful Skill that deals damage to enemies in a 3x3 range. However, the real benefit of this skill is its application of [Vulnerable II] and a SPD -100 debuff. Prioritize including this skill even for single-target battles if no other character can apply the same debuff.
VitalizationVitalization★★★★★
A Reaction that increases Max HP and Healing Received. Since increasing Max HP boosts the damage of Traits and some Skills, this is generally the better Reaction. However, you will want to switch between this and [Elegance of the Queen] depending on the situation.
Taste of PreyTaste of Prey★★★★★
If an enemy is within 6 tiles at the start of the turn, gain Move UP + an NRG Recovery effect when attacking. Since Agata has many Skills without CD, it synergizes well by allowing you to use powerful Skills every turn if supplied with enough NRG. However, if other NRG Recovery means are available, consider swapping this with other Skills.
Powerful AttackPowerful Attack★★★★★
A high-damage, easy-to-use Basic Attack. In most cases, this is the better basic attack.
FeastFeast★★★★★
A powerful Skill that deals high single-target damage and can apply 4 stacks of [Wound] at once. Additionally, this skill has a health recovery effect, so it is generally useful. Furthermore, it has a range of 1-2 tiles allowing Agata to reach targets in the back.
Silver SeveringSilver Severing★★★★
An Instant Skill that, in addition to damage, has buff removal, [Wound] application, and grants [Dodge]. Equip this when [Vulnerable] and SPD debuffs from [The Queen's Announcement] can be covered by other characters, or in stages where [Dodge] is necessary.
Elegance of the QueenElegance of the Queen★★★★
If HP is 70% or more, this Reaction allows you to [Dodge] one Melee attack each turn, which is useful in stages where getting hit even once can be fatal. You'll want to switch between this and the other damage-focused Reaction [Vitalization] depending on the situation.
Secondary Priorities
SkillPriority and Details
Permafrost GroundPermafrost Ground★★★
Because it deals Piercing DMG instead of applying [Wound], it's good to use against enemies with Shields. Also, when fighting in confined spaces, it's powerful in situations since Frosty tiles can hinder enemy movements.
Knockback PursuitKnockback Pursuit★★
A knockback skill that has relatively high damage. Equip it only when knockback is needed.
Wild SurgeWild Surge★★
An easy-to-use [Instant] healing Skill. If allies cannot apply attack buffs, or in stages where you want a self-sufficient Agata, it is viable.
Silencing AttackSilencing Attack
Since triggering the additional effects is conditional, it can be somewhat difficult to use. Generally equip the other Basic Attack [Powerful Attack].
Fair DuelFair Duel
Although its NRG cost is high at 4, it has the highest damage among Agata's Skills. However, [Feast], which can apply [Wound]s and HP recovery effects, is generally easier to use. In stages where buff removal is very important, consider slotting it.

Recommended Gear, Tarots, & Engravings

Recommended Weapons for Agata

Newborn BladeNewborn BladeVoid StabVoid StabCornucopia DaggerCornucopia Dagger

Since higher HP boosts the damage dealt by Agata’s Trait and certain Skills, the [Newborn Blade], which greatly increases HP and physical attack, is highly recommended. Other good options include the [Void Stab], which enhances critical rate, and the [Cornucopia Dagger], valued for its NRG recovery effect.

Recommended Trinkets for Agata

Crystal Burst ArmorCrystal Burst ArmorMaverick's CloakMaverick's CloakShield of JusticeShield of Justice

For Agata, the [Crystal Burst Armor] is highly recommended, since it boosts both her HP and [Strike Back] damage—perfect for her reactive combat style. Other solid choices include the [Maverick’s Cloak], which works well with her high mobility, and the [Shield of Justice], which provides a strong stat boost along with a Physical Shield for added survivability.

Recommended Tarots for Agata

The Fool's NaivetyThe Fool's NaivetyDream of The MagicianDream of The MagicianTemptation of The DevilTemptation of The Devil

The [Fool], which boosts both HP and damage dealt, is the most recommended option. If you don’t have one with good rolls, go with a Tarot that increases damage output, such as [Magician] or [Devil] until you do.

Recommended Engravings for Agata

ResonanceEffect
Sword icon Sword
Wand icon Wand
Before actively attacking, for each 1 tile traversed, increases ATK and DEF by 4%, up to 12%. The effect lasts until the start of the next turn,
Sword icon Sword
Cup icon Cup
When actively attacking, increases the DMG by 5% and grants 15% of [Life Steal].
Pentacle icon Pentacle
Pentacle icon Pentacle
When [Injured], increases DMG by 5% and decreases the DMG taken by 5%. When [Dying], increases DMG by an additional 10% and decreases the DMG taken by an additional 10%.

Essentially, Agata wants to activate effects that boost damage dealt, like [Sword + Wand] or [Sword + Cup]. If you prefer durability over damage, [Pentacle + Pentacle] is recommended since it enhances your Trait’s Piercing Damage and makes it easy to significantly raise her HP via Pentacle stat rolls.
