Auguste's Character Overview

Offensive Power from Trait

Auguste accumulates [Rage] stacks via attacks, skills, equipment skills, or standing by. Once he reaches 6 stacks, he enters Rage Outburst mode, significantly boosting his offensive power and enabling additional actions.

Effective to Boost M.ATK

To be clear, Auguste benefits most from his P.ATK. However, when entering Rage Outburst mode, Auguste's M.ATK also contributes to his P.ATK, meaning that you should consider using Engravings and Tarots that roll M.ATK as one of the stats. Additionally, Auguste's [Hassle] skill is also enhanced by his M.ATK, so don't sleep on M.ATK.

High Base Skill Damage

The base skill Wrath - Swift transforms with each use, and when combined with his Trait’s Rage Outburst effect, allows him to perform up to three consecutive attacks in a single turn. This is an extremely powerful skill, achieving top-tier single-target damage among all characters.

Requires 3–4 Rage Stacks

To enter Rage Outburst, Auguste needs 4 Rage stacks before attacking. Wrath - Swift (Instant) and the next Wrath - Snap grant two stacks. If he has 4 stacks before attacking, he can enter Rage Outburst and use Wrath - Scorch in the same turn. Additionally, Trinket skills can increase Rage stacks, enabling him to transition into Rage Outburst with as few as 3 stacks under certain conditions.

Selecting Reactions

Each reaction skill has its pros and cons. Generally, Contempt is recommended, as it aids Rage stack accumulation while reducing damage received. However, if stack management is challenging or there’s no teammate providing a damage-boosting buff, Strength Activation is a suitable alternative.

Also Skilled in AoE Attacks

By combining the piercing damage effect of Warm Touch with the wide-area attack Wrath - Devastation, Auguste can deliver high damage to groups of enemies.

Timing of Rage Outburst is Key

Auguste is user-friendly, excelling through continuous attacks, but in challenging stages, it’s crucial to activate Rage Outburst at the right time. Monitor enemy and ally buffs/debuffs and skill statuses to time Rage Outburst effectively, keeping an eye on stack management and optimal timing.

Accumulate stacks of Rage using the Armguard and [Wrath - Swift] before unleasing a [Wrath - Devastation] once Auguste enters the Rage Outburst state. Wrath - Swift	★★★★★ An evolving skill that changes per use; the second use inflicts P.DEF DOWN & attacks an area, and the third use becomes a high-damage skill. The first and second uses are [Instant] skills, so it has good synergy with Auguste's Trait, and since it can accumulate many [Rage] stacks, always be included in your build.
Contempt	★★★★★ This Reaction reduces damage and allows Auguste to build [Rage] stacks. It is recommended for Auguste until he reaches 4-stars, which is when he can easily build Rage stacks. At that point, swap this out with [Strength Activation].
Charged Attack	★★★★★ Increases the damage of the next Skill. Ideally, you'll want to use it before [Rage] reaches 6 stacks or before using [Wrath - Scorch].
Warm Touch	★★★★ For the first attack of each turn, this Skill grants Piercing DMG and a small heal. If it damages multiple enemies, it activates for each, so it's especially recommended when using AoE attacks.
Wrath - Devastation	★★★★ A Skill that deals damage + dispels buffs in a wide area. Not only does it have excellent range, but by combining it with [Warm Touch], its ability to deal AoE Piercing DMG to groups of enemies at once is appealing.

Attack Command	★★ A Skill that grants an aura capable of strengthening other characters' attacks. Use it in situations like battles against single bosses, where [Wrath - Swift] is sufficient as your only attack Skill.
Tearing Whirlwind	★★ Prevents damaged enemies from healing, making it a useful Skill in specific situations, such as stages where enemies heal frequently.
Extermination	★ A Basic Attack that reduces NRG by 1. Its usefulness is limited, and since its damage dealt is no different from other Basic Attacks, [Charged Attack] is usually better.
Overlord's Roar	★ A Skill with high single-target damage and a buff dispel effect. In situations where dispels are important, or if you cannot secure a means to reduce the CD of [Wrath - Swift], it's viable to include it in your build.

[Wand + Wand], which pairs well with frequent actions, is a strong choice. [Sword + Wand] and [Sword + Cup] are also great for boosting damage and are very easy to use with Auguste. If you want Auguste to focus on AoE attacks, [Wand + Cup] is recommended, since it can reduce the cost and cooldown of [Wrath – Devastation] to 0.
