Establishes a Devastating Mid-Game

Runecraft Spellboost is a deck that rapidly cycles spells to build Spellboost and then unleashes threats like Blaze Destroyer and Ara, Dawnblossom to dominate the mid‑game. With a strong hand and proper sequencing, it can generate an overwhelming board that’s very difficult to answer, and an extremely satisfying deck to play.

Spellboost Runecraft Deck - How to Play

Draw Cards and Power Up Your Hand

In the early game, use cards like Foresight, Radiant Rainbow, and Homework Time! to draw fresh cards while charging up your "Spellboost" abilities. Think of this as the setup phase so you can flood the field with your army later on.

Take Control with Anne & Grea

Once you reach 5 Play Points, play Anne & Grea, Mysterian Duo to wipe out enemy threats while continuing to charge your hand. You can easily create an unstoppable army by dropping your discounted followers safely behind the massive 'Ward' (Blocker) Spirit that Anne & Grea summons.

Unleash Multiple Followers at the Same Time

Instead of playing your discounted followers one by one the moment they become cheap, save them up and unleash several of them all at once. Swarming the field like this makes it incredibly difficult for your opponent to fight back. Plus, overwhelming the enemy leader with a massive, surviving army is your main path to victory.

Keep the Pressure On

Once you start dropping your followers, keep the pressure on by playing more of them every single turn so your army never completely disappears. You will win much more often if you focus on changing up your pacing by patiently hoarding your cards in the early turns, and then unleashing a never-ending wave of attackers.

Refill Your Hand with Dimension Climb

Swarming the field will quickly empty your hand, but playing Dimension Climb helps you draw fresh cards and instantly get Play Points back so you can keep summoning more allies. If this spell happens to draw Kuon or Anne & Grea, play them right away to keep the opponent completely overwhelmed.

Finish Them Off with Instant Attacks

To deliver the final blow, use "Storm" cards (which can attack the moment they are played) like Kuon, Odin, and the Falcon that appears when you Evolve Ara, Dawnblossom. Because this deck can create an overwhelming army during the middle of the game, you can often completely crush your opponent as early as turn 7 using Kuon or Odin.

Clear the Way and Deal Damage with Ara

Play a discounted Ara to wipe out enemy threats, then Evolve her to magically transform one of your own allies into a Falcon that can instantly attack the enemy leader. It is a fantastic trick to transform a follower that has already attacked this turn, or an extra 'Onion Patch' created by Bergent's Crest, into a fresh Falcon.

The Ultimate Combo: Demonic Call and Kuon

If you are getting close to 10 Play Points and the opponent's health has dropped to 14 or below, try to hold onto Demonic Call. Here is the secret trick: by using Demonic Call to summon and destroy a Demonic Shikigami, the giant Noble Shikigami that Kuon summons at 10 Play Points will instantly grow to a massive 13 Attack! From there, you just Super-Evolve Kuon to give that giant monster "Storm," letting you attack instantly and win the game.

Mulligan Guide for the Spellboost Runecraft

Keep Cards That Build Spellboost and Cards That Need It

You should always hold onto cheap cards that let you draw fresh cards while charging up your "Spellboost" abilities early on. You also want to keep the incredibly strong Anne & Grea, Mysterian Duo ready for your 5th Play Point turn, along with any heavy-hitting cards that become much cheaper to play as you build up your Spellboost charges.

Keep Your Spellboost Combos Together

Spellboost Combo Pairs
Radiant RainbowRadiant RainbowBlaze DestroyerBlaze Destroyer

If you start with a card that needs Spellboost to become stronger, try to keep it alongside Radiant Rainbow, which magically gives you two Spellboost charges and draws a fresh card. On the flip side, if you already have cards that generate Spellboost, keep them paired with Blaze Destroyer so his cost drops and he becomes a massive threat.

Keep Spells That Wipe Out Enemies Against Fast Decks

If you think your opponent is playing a fast, aggressive deck like Swordcraft or Abysscraft, hold onto spells that can wipe out multiple attackers at once. You must be careful, because if you ignore the swarm of followers they play in the first few turns, you might end up losing the game before you even get a chance to fight back!

How to Counter the Spellboost Runecraft

Play Followers Early to Keep the Pressure On

Runecraft Spellboost has very few low‑cost followers, which means they often struggle to take back the field if they fall behind. Play followers early so your opponent is forced to answer them while you chip away at the enemy leader’s defense.

Use Anne & Grea to Make a Field That’s Hard to Clear

Right before your opponent’s evolution turn, Anne & Grea, Mysterian Duo lets you set up a field that’s hard to wipe out. Try playing two followers with at least 4 Defense like Mireille & Risette, Penitent Duo, or filling the field with several followers so they can’t clear everything at once.

Prepare for Blaze Destroyer’s Push

Runecraft Spellboost can put out a very strong field in the mid‑game. If you can’t clear cards like Blaze Destroyer, you may lose on the spot. Keep cards like Stormy Blast or Sincerity of the Dewdrop ready so you can answer their big turns.

Make Them Spend Evolution Points

Earth Rite Spell Runecraft deals most of its damage with cards that require Evolution Points, such as Ara, Dawnblossom and Kuon, Fivefold Master. By putting followers on the field and forcing them to evolve defensively, you reduce their ability to finish the game and gain the upper hand

Avoid Their OTK by Leaving the Field Empty

Earth Rite Spell Runecraft has strong One‑Turn Kill setups, such as Shikigami Kuon + Dimension Climb + Kuon, Fivefold Master. You can avoid this by ending your turn with no followers on the field. With no targets, Shikigami won’t activate, and their OTK falls apart. If your deck also has a One‑Turn Kill combo, this is a good time to aim for it.
