The Treasure Chest Shop in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time can only be played in Castle Town at night as a child. You can't enter the Treasure Chest Shop during the day, so keep that in mind.

The Treasure Chest Shop in Ocarina of Time is a mini-game where players must repeatedly choose the correct chest from two treasure chests in each room to advance. Select the chest containing the key to progress, and reach the 6th room to clear the challenge. Choosing the wrong chest will end the game immediately.
Find More Keys to Advance to 6th Room and Clear
Keep finding keys in five consecutive rooms to reach the 6th room and clear the mini-game. The odds of clearing are 1/32 (approx. 3.1%), making this a mini-game that relies heavily on luck.
Use Lens of Truth to See Inside the Chests
Using the Lens of Truth lets you check a chest's contents before opening it, allowing you to clear without relying on luck. The Lens of Truth can be obtained at the Bottom of the Well in Kakariko Village, so if you want to clear this mini-game without fail, go collect it first before attempting.

You can also clear the Treasure Chest Shop mini-game easily by taking advantage of the Save Anywhere feature in the Switch version. Save every time you enter a room, and if you pick the wrong chest, reload and try again. Since this differs from the intended gameplay experience, treat it as just one option to keep in mind.
