How to Defeat Dark Link
Dark Link mirrors your every action. Attack during the recovery lag after its dodge, or use Din's Fire which cannot be blocked.
Mirrors your every move
Dark Link mimics your attacks like a mirror, but it can only copy horizontal and vertical sword slashes. Items, magic, and the Spin Attack cannot be copied — it will simply dodge them.
Becomes darker and more aggressive over time
Dark Link appears semi-transparent at the start of the fight, but gradually becomes darker and more aggressive as time passes. At first it only mirrors your actions, but it will eventually begin attacking on its own, so never let your guard down.
Attack after its dodge recovery
In the Dark Link fight, land hits during the openings created by moves it cannot copy, or by the recovery lag after its dodge when you close in. Vertical and horizontal slashes both connect, but the Shield Jab in particular comes out fast and is easy to land — corner it against a wall and use it for best results.
Avoid using the Thrust attack

When Dark Link has turned dark, using the Thrust attack will cause it to jump onto your sword and counter-attack, so avoid using it.
Din's Fire is highly effective
Din's Fire cannot be blocked, making it an extremely effective method of attack. If you have it, close the distance first before using it to ensure it connects.

When you deal damage to Dark Link, it will disappear and reappear behind you. When it has turned dark and its aggression is up, it will attack you immediately from behind, so watch out.

When Dark Link appears near the tree, approach and perform one normal vertical or horizontal slash. Once Dark Link parries it with an identical attack, you are ready to proceed.

After that, switch to the Megaton Hammer, close in, and land a hit. For some reason it will stop raising its shield, making it easy to deal damage from here on.
From then on, just keep attacking with the Megaton Hammer
After dealing damage, Dark Link will come at you from behind, so turn around and smash it with the Megaton Hammer. Just repeat this sequence and you will defeat it.
