How to Use the Scarecrow

In Ocarina of Time, Scarecrows appear when you play the "Scarecrow's Song" that you registered beforehand at specific locations. Once summoned, they can be used as Hookshot targets, making them useful for reaching shortcuts in dungeons and collecting items.

How to Register the Scarecrow Song
1.	Play Your Own Song for Bonooru as a Child.
2.	As an Adult, Play the Same Song from Step 1 for Bonooru Again.

You can register the "Scarecrow's Song" by playing a custom melody for Bonooru as a Child, then playing the same melody for him again as an Adult. As a Child, two scarecrows stand in the same location; Bonooru is the scarecrow on the left when facing them.

Make a Note of the Song You Registered

The Scarecrow Song you register cannot be checked on the ocarina screen in the menu. It's a long, 8-note melody, so it's recommended to write it down to avoid the extra trouble of forgetting it.

Play the Scarecrow Song Where Navi reacts

When you approach a spot where a scarecrow can appear, Navi will turn green and point to the location. By playing the registered "Scarecrow Song" at that spot, you can make the scarecrow appear.

Use the Hookshot to Move

The summoned Scarecrow acts as a Hookshot target. With the Hookshot equipped, you can aim at the scarecrow and fire to pull yourself to the scarecrow's location.
