The Grave Digging Tour in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time can be played at the Kakariko Village graveyard between 6 PM and 9 PM as a child. Until it becomes 6 PM to 9 PM, you'll need to head out into the field and wait for time to pass.

How to Play Graveyard Digging Tour and Tips

Pay 10 Rupees to Have a Hole Dug

Entry Fee10 Rupees per attempt

The Digging Game in Ocarina of Time is a mini-game where you pay Dampe 10 Rupees to dig at any spot he can reach, earning you a Piece of Heart or Rupees. The winning location is random every time.

Digging on Dirt Tiles Yields a Prize

You can win a prize in the Digging Game by having Dampe dig while he is standing on a dirt tile. Note that having him dig while standing on a stone tile will never yield a prize, so keep a close eye on where he is standing.

Retry by Re-entering the Graveyard

Because the location of the Piece of Heart is random, if you complete a full loop without finding it, exit and re-enter the Graveyard to reload the area. It is recommended to shift the gravestone in the 2nd from the left in the 1st row or the 4th from the right in the 2nd row — the hole that appears lets you fall in and warp back to the Graveyard entrance, saving travel time.

Use Save Anywhere to Farm the Piece of Heart

Save Anywhere
How To
1Use the "−" Button to Save Anywhere before entering the Graveyard
2If the Piece of Heart doesn't appear, reload and re-enter the Graveyard

On the Nintendo Switch version, you can use the Save Anywhere feature to obtain the Piece of Heart from the Digging Game without wasting Rupees. Keep in mind that this differs from the intended gameplay experience, so treat it as just one option available to you.

Shift a Gravestone to Get 5 Rupees

Ocarina of Time gravestone 5 Rupees

You can earn 5 Rupees to fund the Digging Game by shifting gravestones. Gravestones that reveal a hole do not yield Rupees, but 5 Rupees can be obtained from either of the other two locations. By exiting and re-entering the Graveyard to reload, you can collect 5 Rupees from shifted gravestones as many times as you like.
