How to Increase Carrying Capacity

In Ocarina of Time, you can increase your carrying capacity for Deku Nuts, Deku Sticks, Bombs, Arrows, Bullet Bags, and Rupees. Learn how to get every capacity upgrade and carry more of each item.

Participate in the Forest Stage wearing the Mask of Truth

For the Business Scrub upgrade, bomb the boulder outside the Sacred Forest Meadow to enter the hidden grotto. Follow the path below to reach the Forest Stage and be sure to obtain this upgrade before acquiring the Poacher's Saw, as a bug may prevent you from receiving it.

Ocarina of Time - Business Scrub Map

Break the rock in front of the Sacred Forest Meadow and enter the grotto to locate a Business Scrub who sells the Big Deku Nut Bag.

How to Reach the Forest Stage

Enter the Lost Woods from Kokiri Forest, then follow the path "Right → Left → Right → Left → Left", and enter the invisible pit near where the butterflies are flying to participate. Also, be aware that there is a bug where if you have obtained the Poacher's Saw before showing the Mask of Truth, you may be blocked from obtaining the Biggest Deku Nut Bag.

The first Deku Stick upgrade can be purchased from a Business Scrub in the Lost Woods for 40 Rupees. The second is obtained at the Forest Stage while wearing the Skull Mask.

Enter the Lost Woods from Kokiri Forest, proceed "Left → Left", and you will find Business Scrub who sells the Big Deku Stick Bag. Use the image as a reference and head on over.

How to Reach the Forest Stage

Enter the Lost Woods from Kokiri Forest, proceed "Right → Left → Right → Left → Left", and enter the invisible pit near where the butterflies are flying to participate. Note that you need to participate wearing the Skull Mask to obtain the Biggest Deku Stick Bag.

Score 100 points 3 times in a row at the Lost Woods Shooting Gallery

At the Hyrule Castle Market Shooting Gallery, hit all of the targets for a perfect score to receive a Bullet Bag upgrade. In the Lost Woods Shooting Gallery, hit the target's bullseye three times in a row to receive another upgrade. The two upgrades can be obtained in either order, with the reward increasing your capacity by +10.

In Goron City, use a Bomb to stop the Goron rolling around the city. Time the explosion so that it hits him as he passes. For the other upgrade, play Bombchu Bowling in Hyrule Castle Town and continue playing until the Bomb Bag upgrade appears as one of the available prizes.

Stop the Runaway Goron with a Bomb

The runaway Goron is in Goron City. Time your bomb placement carefully and try to make it explode at just the right moment.

How to Increase Arrow Carrying Capacity

As Adult Link, visit the Shooting Gallery in Kakariko Village and hit all of the targets for a perfect score to receive a Quiver upgrade. The second upgrade is obtained at Gerudo Fortress by completing Horseback Archery and scoring at least 1,500 points.
