How to Play Marathon and Tips
- You Can Never Beat the Runner
- Keep Running with Epona or Roll
- After about 4 minutes have passed, you will be considered to have given up and will fail
You Can Never Beat the Runner

| Rules | Race from Gerudo Valley to the Bridge at the Lost Woods - Warping with the Ocarina counts as a forfeit |
|---|
No matter how efficiently you take the shortest route, it is impossible to win the race against the runner in Ocarina of Time. The game is designed so you always lose by exactly 1 second, so aim to finish the course and set a new personal best.
Keep Running with Epona or Roll

| Allowed | Epona / Roll |
|---|---|
| Not Allowed | Warping with the Ocarina |
To improve your marathon time, make use of Epona and Roll, which are not prohibited. Using the Ocarina to warp will result in a forfeit, so make your way to the goal under your own power.
You Fail After Roughly 4 Minutes

The marathon has a time limit, and if approximately 4 minutes pass, you will be considered to have abandoned the race midway and will fail. Therefore, the slowest time you can record is also around 4 minutes.
Marathon Trivia
You Can Sell the Bunny Hood to the Running Man

If you find the Running Man dashing around Hyrule Field outside of the minigame, you can sell him the Bunny Hood by talking to him while wearing it. He's running during the day and can't be talked to, so aim for when he's resting at night. Selling it to him fills your wallet with Rupees up to your current limit.
