Horseback Archery in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time can be played by talking to the Gerudo at the archery range in Gerudo's Fortress while riding Epona, as an adult. You need to have rescued all the carpenters at Gerudo's Fortress before you can take it on, so keep that in mind.

- Shoot at Targets to Score as High as Possible
- Arrows fly slightly to the upper-right - At the Start, Aim for the 7 Pots
- In the 2nd Half, Shoot Each Target About 3 Times
- Use the rewind feature in the Switch 2 version to make it easier
Shoot at Targets to Score as High as Possible

| Entry Fee | 20 Rupees per attempt |
|---|---|
| Rules | Shoot arrows at targets while Epona runs automatically - You have 20 arrows |
| Target Score | 1st attempt: 1000 points 2nd attempt: 1500 points |
Horseback Archery in Ocarina of Time is a minigame where you ride Epona and shoot arrows at targets to score as many points as possible. You can hit the same target multiple times, but you only have 20 arrows, so you need to aim carefully. Epona runs automatically, so focus on your shooting to go for a high score.
Arrows Fly Slightly to the Upper-Right

In Horseback Archery, arrows fly slightly to the upper-right of the screen's center. If your shots are missing, try aiming a little to the lower-left while centering the screen on your intended target to adjust your aim. The offset also changes depending on Epona's position on the track, so practice is needed if you're going for a high score.
At the Start, Aim for the Pots

| Target | Points / Notes |
|---|---|
| Pot | 100 points Breaks after being hit once |
| Bullseye Target | 100 / 60 / 30 points More points the closer to the center |
When Horseback Archery starts, pots and targets are lined up on the right side. Pots break after one hit, but since they are evenly spaced, if you line up your aim on the first one, you just need to time your shots for a high score.
In 2nd Half, Shoot Each Target About 3 Times

After passing the pots, you loop around a target straight ahead, then three targets appear on the left, and finally one target appears in front of you. Since targets can be hit multiple times, aim to hit each target about 3 times.
Use Rewind Feature in the Switch 2 to Make It Easier

| Target Score per Wave (Aim for 1500 points) | ||
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 7 Pots | 700 points (13 Arrows Remaining) |
| 2 | Target at the turnaround point | 820 points (11 Arrows Remaining) |
| 3 | 3 Targets | 1340 points (2 Arrows Remaining) |
| 4 | Final Target | 1500 points (0 Arrows Remaining) |
In Horseback Archery, you can lower the difficulty by using the rewind feature in the Switch 2 version. Set a target score for each wave, and if you fall short, hold the "-" button to rewind to just before that point so you can retry from any wave. The 1500-point target in particular is very challenging, so consider using this feature if you're struggling.
Horseback Archery Rewards
| Clear/Condition | Reward |
|---|---|
| Score 1000 or More Points | Piece of Heart |
| Score 1500 or More Points | Biggest Quiver |
In Horseback Archery in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, scoring 1000 points or more gets you a Piece of Heart. On your second attempt, you'll need 1500 points or more for a reward, making it significantly harder to clear.
