Using Warps is Not Allowed

Using a warp song like the Minuet of Forest will forcefully reduce the remaining time to 1 second, causing you to fail. Keep in mind that this applies to all timed events from the Odd Mushroom onward.

You Can Also Take the Route Through the Lost Woods

RouteLake Hylia→Hyrule Field→Kokiri Forest→Lost Woods→Goron City→Death Mountain Crater→Summit

If you have cleared the story up to the Fire Temple, the route through the Lost Woods is also recommended. While the heat timer is active in the crater, the eye drops timer does not decrease, so if you have extra time before entering the crater, you can reach it with ease. Be sure to take off the Goron Tunic before entering the crater.

Item Trading Rewards

  1. Get Mask of Truth and Mask Rentals
  2. Get Biggoron's Sword in Adult Timeline

By completing the trading sequences in Ocarina of Time, you can earn the Mask of Truth, unlock mask rentals, and obtain Biggoron's Sword. Because the child and adult timelines have different rewards, you'll need to finish both to collect them all.

Get Mask of Truth and Mask Rentals

In the child Link's trading sequence, you can obtain the Mask of Truth. While wearing the Mask of Truth, you can read the thoughts of people you talk to and hear rumors from Gossip Stones. In addition to the masks used during the trading sequence, you'll also be able to borrow the Goron Mask, Zora Mask, and Gerudo Mask.

Obtain Large Amounts of Rupees

The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Rupees Image

Towards the end of the trading sequence, when you give the Bunny Hood to the Running Man, you can receive Rupees up to your wallet's limit. If you have the Giant's Wallet, you can get up to 500 Rupees, so if you don't want to waste any Rupees, it's a good idea to get the Giant's Wallet first or spend your money beforehand.

Get Biggoron's Sword in Adult Timeline

By completing the adult Link's trading sequence, you can obtain the hidden weapon, Biggoron's Sword. It's a two-handed sword with twice the power of the Master Sword, so it's useful to have for the final boss battle.

What Is the Item Trading Event?

A Side Quest for Trading with NPCs

The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Trading Item Event Image

The item trading event in Ocarina of Time is a side quest where you talk to specific NPCs in order, exchange items, and receive a final reward. There are separate trading sequences for both child and adult Link. Also, since it's not necessary to progress the story, you can complete them whenever you have time.
