What is the Team Medallion?

Change Teams with the Team Medallion

Trainers will now be able to change their teams in Pokemon Go with the addition of the new Team Medallion item! This will work for all players, regardless of the reason behind the team change.

To Be Released on Feb. 29, 2019

According to official sources, the Team Medallion will be implemented in the game on Feb. 29, 2019, 1PM PST. This will most likely come in an required update so stay tuned for it.

Bought from the Shop for 1000 PokeCoins

The only way Trainers can get their hands on the Team Medallion is by purchasing it from 1000 PokeCoins from the Shop. So far, there no other way of getting a Team Medallion besides that.

Can Only be Bought Once a Year

The Team Medallion can only be bought every 365 days. Once purchased, it will disappear from the item shop and will only reappear again a year later.

How to Change Teams Using the Team Medallion?

1. Buy the Team Medallion from the Shop

Head on the item shop and to buy the Team Medallion. Once added to the game, it should show up there!

2. Select the Team Medallion from Your Item Inventory

You can find the Team Medallion in your Item Inventory if the purchase was successful. Select it to start the process to change teams.

3. Complete the Team-Selection Guide

Using the Team Medallion will bring up the Team-Selection screens trainers used in choosing their teams the first time. From there, you can select which team to switch to and that completes the process!
