Skip Talking to Clotho
After the cutscene in the Royal Library, Clotho will offer to answer any questions you have about the story. However, the only helpful information she has to offer is related to the story, and nothing that affects gameplay.
Furthermore, her answers are usually cryptic—often ending with I don't know
or I can't tell you yet.
You Can Pick Any Small Boat
After boarding a small boat, the 5-minute timer only starts after reaching the starting area.
So the starting positions of the small boats themselves don't matter.
Watch Your Landing
Apart from Depth Charges, Whirlpools, and the Corruption, you also need to be careful about where you land since bad landings will force you to restart the entire course.
Don't Forget the Warp Point
After completing the boat course, you will spawn in front of the Farewell Island Warp Point. Don't forget to activate it before leaving the island to make returning here more convenient.
Act 4 Boss: Howling Servant of the Abyss
Fight with Any Element
The Howling Servant of the Abyss is not susceptible to any particular element. Therefore, you can go ahead and fight the boss with your preferred line-up of characters.
Focus on the Boss
Daisy is present on the field during this boss fight and she also appears to have her own HP bar. However, the monsters that spawn, as well as the boss itself, prioritize targeting the player. Therefore, you can largely ignore defending Daisy and focus on the fight itself.
Dreyfus Joins the Battle
During this part of the quest, Dreyfus will be joining the player as an NPC Helper
. As he fights alongside the player, he also appears to prioritize intercepting monsters that move towards Daisy.
