Reroll Evaluation Criteria
Prioritizes Early-Game Value
The reroll tier list is ranked based on the perspective of beginners who usually lack characters. Therefore, characters who can synergize with those obtained in the tutorial and those who excel in boss battles are rated highly.
Field Exploration Also Considered
7DSO has field exploration elements like Chests and Star Fragments. Each character has an exploration-oriented Adventure Skill, so characters who can make exploration easy receive higher rankings.
Free Characters Have Lower Priority
Tristan, Tioreh, Slader, and Howzer are obtained by progressing through the story. Since expanding your roster provides more combat options than increasing a character's Potential, these guaranteed characters are given a lower evaluation.

Is Rerolling Necessary?
You Don't Need to Reroll
Rerolling is not recommended in 7DSO. It takes about 15 minutes to complete the tutorial, so it's inefficient. If you do decide to reroll, aim to get S-rank or higher characters.
How to Reroll GuideReach Late Game with Free Characters
With sufficient training and investment, it's possible to reach the late game using only the free characters. Note that instead of leveling all four characters evenly, you should focus on training the two main characters you use in combat.
Free Guila for Launch Event

It was announced during the pre-release live stream that the 5-Star character Guila can be obtained for free through a launch event. With Guila, you can further enhance your early-game Fire Element party which includes Tristan and Tioreh.
