For PC, the controller can be connected via either USB or Bluetooth. If you want to play wirelessly, use the Bluetooth connection.

Connect a Controller via Bluetooth
Connecting a controller to your smartphone is usually done via Bluetooth. Simply turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone, put the controller into pairing mode, and select it from your device list to connect.
Revert to Mobile Controls from Settings
Connecting to a controller immediately swaps out your settings from Mobile
