Exploration Tips & Tricks
Gather Materials While You Explore
As you explore, you will come across different materials and items. Make sure to gather them as you come across them as you never know what you'll need later on to craft. Dandelion Root and Flint are among those you should always pick up since you need them for Potions.
Important Items to Pick Up

 Seashore Sowthistle | Needed to craft stronger Potions of Charm |
 Tree Sap | Ingredient for Sticky Tree Sap, which you need to craft high-tier Weapons |
 Flint | Used to craft Refined Glass and Polish. Refined Glass is needed to craft Potions, while Polish is needed for high-tier Weapons |
 Various Ores | Used to craft various Ingots. This is needed to craft high-tier Weapons |
Check High Places & Hidden Spots
Make sure to check high ground, such as cliffs and mountain tops since Treasure Chests and items can be found there. Use your heroes' Adventure Skills and Pets to reach them.
Need the Right Element for Puzzles
There are puzzles, such as Elemental Stones, that will require the characters with the matching element to complete them. You can get items and Treasure Chests for completing them!
Also Complete Book of Stars Puzzles
There are also puzzles that can only be completed by using Book of Stars abilities. Progressing through the Main Story will allow you to unlock more abilities!
Pets are Great for Exploration
Pets provide significant advantages when exploring. Some offer faster or more convenient transportation, while others enable flight. These abilities allow you to access locations that are otherwise difficult to reach using only your characters.
Where to Get a Flying Pet
The fastest way to get a free Flying Pet is to tame the Wild Dragons near Elder Dragon's Sanctuary. To capture it, lower its HP to about 10%, then use a Concentrated Potion of Charm on it! This can be crafted at the Expert's Workbench.
The Wild Dragons can only be captured using the Concentrated Potion of Charm or higher.
Progress Story to Unlock Pets
The Pet feature is unlocked when you progress through the Main Story Act 1, Episode 21. You also need to complete Region Quests to obtain Potion recipes.
Best Characters for Exploration
Boost Gathering Efficiency
Dreyfus and Hendrickson each have Adventure Skills that will allow you to gather materials more efficiently. This will require adding them to your active party.

 Hendrickson | Increases plant gathering amount + gathering efficiency Displays the location of nearby plants |
Reveal Specific Items on Map
Drake and Mannie will mark different objects in the map when you have them. What makes them great is that you don't even have to add them to your active party, their skills will activate just by having them!
