Clear a Specific Stage Solo with Hoshina
The "Carve a Path" achievement can be obtained by clearing Training: Role Material Difficulty 3 or higher with 1 Soshiro Hoshina
How to Complete Slice Open a Path
Unlock Role Material Difficulty 3

First, unlock Training: Role Material Difficulty 3. Raise your Player Rank to 15, clear the Promotion Exam, and increase your Spec-Ops Rank to 2.

For this achievement, [Hoshina-Style Sword-Slay Technique] Soshiro Hoshina is the best pick. His Combat Skill is an AoE attack, letting him hit multiple enemies at once.
