This is an early game guide for Kaiju No. 8: The Game to help beginners get a strong start. Covering early-game goals, strategy for tough battles, tips, and what to do when stuck in Kaiju No. 8: The Game.
Early Game Objectives
Follow the Beginner's Guide

Kaiju No. 8 includes a Beginner's Guide which unlocks after clearing Main Story 0-7. Following it helps you get familiar with the game while earning Player EXP and Gacha Tickets, making it a great first objective.
Aim for Spec-Ops Rank 2
In Kaiju No. 8, increasing your Spec-Ops Rank unlocks higher character reinforcement limits and more challenging stages. Specifically, reaching Ops Rank 2 is required to unlock materials and high-difficulty content, so aim to achieve Spec-Ops Rank 2 early.
Not Required on the First Day
Reaching Spec-Ops Rank requires Player Rank 15. Since options for earning Player EXP are limited, there's no need to rush to Ops Rank 2 on your first day.
Fast Early Game Progression
Reroll with the Standard Gacha

In Kaiju No. 8, you start with 20 THE GAME Gacha Tickets, so begin by rerolling with them. You can also exchange for one standard ★5 character, making it helpful to secure one or two ★5 units early to accelerate your progress.
Focus on Main Story Progression

In Kaiju No. 8, the Main Story can be played without consuming resources like Stamina. You'll also earn Player EXP and Dimensional Crystals, so focus on progressing through the story until you encounter a challenge.
Raise Your Spec-Ops Rank
Once your Player Rank reaches a certain level, a Promotion Exam will unlock, allowing you to raise your Spec-Ops Rank. Increasing your Spec-Ops Rank unlocks higher character reinforcement limits and new content, expanding your gameplay options.
Complete Daily Mission

In Kaiju No. 8, your Player Rank, which determines your Spec-Ops Rank, is important. Make sure to complete daily activities that grant Player EXP, such as daily Missions and spending Stamina.
What to Do When Stuck?
Upgrade Your Characters

If you can no longer win battles, first focus on upgrading your characters. In addition to leveling up, enhancing skills can also boost a character's power.
Change Your Squad Setup

If you have sufficient firepower but are losing due to low durability, reassess your squad setup. Adding a Defender, such as Isao or Akari, to protect your allies may help turn the tide of battle.
Get Powerful Characters from the Gacha

If battles remain difficult after reinforcing your characters, or if you want to progress faster, consider aiming for new ★5 characters from the gacha. While evaluating your current roster, prioritize acquiring characters ranked among the strongest.
Best Character Tier ListSteadily Raise Rank with Dailies
In Kaiju No. 8, character Reinforce limits are tied to your Spec-Ops Rank, which may prevent you from exceeding the recommended power. Rather than forcing your way through, you can focus on completing daily activities while waiting for your Ops Rank to increase.
Kaiju Strength Scales with Ops Rank
The strength of Kaiju in the story scales with your Spec-Ops Rank. Keep in mind that increasing your Spec-Ops Rank isn't always an outright advantage.
