Soshiro Hoshina (Twin Swords Jiangshi) is a Slash/Ice Defender and a valuable limited character. He can support allies by improving their durability through reducing incoming DMG for allies, taking a portion of incoming DMG on their behalf, and providing Recovery, while also supporting the party's damage with DMG dealt buffs.
If you're looking for a strong Defender, Hoshina is a worthwhile character to obtain.
Reducing Ally Incoming DMG & Taking DMG on Their Behalf
At the start of battle and through his Combat Skill, he can place all allies except himself in the Guard state, reducing their incoming DMG.
Additionally, he can take a portion of attacks that hit allies in the Guard state. If he receives DMG that would reduce his HP to 0, he survives with 1 HP once per battle and recovers 100% of his HP.

Recovery Is Also Possible with the Ultimate
His Ultimate can recover HP for all allies, and when combined with the Guard effect, it provides additional support for ally durability.
Additionally, Finesse, which is granted every time his HP decreases by 300, increases the Ultimate's Multiplier. When the Ultimate is activated, additional Recovery based on the number of Finesse stacks is possible, and when 10 stacks are accumulated, he can also recover his own HP at the end of the turn.
