Material Synthesis Guide - How to Craft & Convert Items

What is Synthesis?

Used to Craft Higher Rarity Materials

Synthesis lets you turn extra or common materials into rarer ones used for upgrades. It’s an easy way to turn unused items into valuable resources for upgrading Weapons, Uniparts, and Character Skills.

Material Synthesis and Conversion

Synthesis has two features you can use to craft items. Material Conversion lets you exchange materials of the same rarity, while Material Synthesis consumes specific materials to create ones of a higher rarity.

How to Unlock Synthesis

Progress Through the Main Story

Material Synthesis becomes available once players clear Main Story Chapter 0‑7. At that point, the Synthesis function unlocks along with other key features such as Achievements, Storage, Memories, and Messages.

How to Access Synthesis

1	Open Menu from the top right of the Home Screen.
2	Tap the Synthesis button to open.
3	Once open, you can choose from Material Synthesis and Material Conversion.

Meet the Required Material Conditions

Items that are currently locked or unavailable due to missing materials will appear grayed out in the options menu. To be able synthesize them, make sure you’ve reached the required Spec-Ops Rank and collected all necessary materials.

Synthesis Uses

Convert Extra Items You Do Not Need

Conversion is useful when you have excess of one type but need another. This is especially useful when you're trying to craft a specific item or upgrade but are missing one or two key materials.

Streamline Your Crafting Process

Instead of farming for that missing piece, simply convert what you already have. You can then use Synthesis to upgrade them into higher-rarity components, which are often required for advanced gear or weapon crafting.

Unlock Character Level Limit

You can use synthesis to create the enhancement items needed to raise your characters’ level cap by combining lower-tier items. It’s especially handy when you’re running low on rare materials for limit breaks.

Craft Items for Skill Enhancement

Synthesis can also be used to craft special items needed to advance character skills with specific attributes. As your character’s skills get higher, the materials needed for more upgrades become increasingly rare and difficult to obtain which makes Synthesis an essential tool for advancing further.

Develop Uniparts

Using Synthesis, you can combine lower-tier Unimaterials to craft higher and more rare Uniparts. This process helps you upgrade your equipment more efficiently, especially when rare materials are hard to come by.

Unimaterials Vary by Rarity

Unimaterials come in different colors, each indicating the quality and the type of Uniparts they can produce. Through synthesis, you can upgrade low-level Unimaterials into higher-rarity ones, which can then be used to craft better Unipart equipment.

Unimaterials Rarity Indicators

To obtain blue Unimaterials, you’ll need to combine multiple green materials through synthesis. Likewise, combining blue materials allows you to create higher-tier purple Unimaterials. Each upgrade increases the rarity and quality of the materials you can use to craft better Uniparts.

Synthesis Materials

Synthesis Materials are key resources used to craft higher-rarity items through Synthesis. You can get them by dismantling extra weapons or Uniparts, completing specific missions, or farming specific Kaijus in Training.
