Enemy plates varies

In Kaiju No. 8 The Game, Elemental matchups are not about advantages or disadvantages. Instead, focus on breaking the "Plates" unique to each enemy. Build a team with characters who can break the Kaiju's Plates to clear the stage.

Some Characters Can Change Their Element

Kafka Hibino Ultimate Form

For example, when 4-Star Kafka uses his Ultimate, the Element of his Normal Attack/Skill/Ultimate changes from Pierce to Blunt. If multiple Elements are required, it's effective to include characters who can change their Element through specific actions to balance your team.

Benefits of Breaking Plates

Trigger the "Core Exposed" State

Kaiju No. 8 The Game Core Exposed

When you land attacks that match the Plates displayed near a Kaiju's HP gauge, you can break those Plates. Breaking all Plates will put the Kaiju into a "Core Exposed" state, leaving it incapacitated. This also triggers your partner's Follow Up attack, so prepare a team that can effectively break the Plates of the Kaiju you're facing.

Tip!If a number appears on the Plate icon, you must hit that Plate the specified number of times to break it.
