Squad Setup Guide and Tips
- Match Party Elements to Enemy Resistance
- Add Supporters and Defenders
- Pay Attention to Partners
- Identify the Kaiju Type
Match Elements to Enemy Resistances

The enemies in Kaiju No. 8 have elemental resistances that can be broken by attacking with characters of the corresponding element. Once all resistances are broken, the Kaiju becomes Core Exposed, giving you a tactical advantage. Prioritize forming a party with characters that exploit the enemy's resistances.
Include Supporters and Defenders

Besides Strikers who deal damage, Supporters provide buffs and debuffs, while Defenders protect allies with shields and recovery skills. If you're struggling to win, consider including Supporters or Defenders in your squad.
Pay Attention to Battle Buddies

In Kaiju No. 8, the 1st and 2nd slots, as well as the 3rd and 4th slots, are considered battle buddies. When a Kaiju becomes Core Exposed, battle buddies can perform Follow-Up attacks, and some skills have additional effects on partners. Keep this in mind when forming your party.
Identify the Kaiju Type

Kaiju come in four types: small, medium, giant, and humanoid. Some characters have skills that are only effective against specific types, such as small or giant Kaiju, so make sure to identify the Kaiju type before battle.
Battle Tips and Precautions
- Manage Your SP
- Monitor Enemy Ultimate
- Don't Rely Too Much on Auto
Manage Your SP
Using Combat Skills consumes SP, which can be recovered through Normal Attacks. If you use skills carelessly, you might run out of SP when you need to use a Recovery skill. Manage your SP carefully and monitor the action order.
Monitor Enemy Ultimate
Below the Kaiju's HP gauge is the Ultimate Gauge. When it fills, the Kaiju will unleash a powerful attack. Make the Kaiju enter a Core Exposed state to lower its action order and reduce its Ultimate Gauge.
Don't Rely Too Much on Auto
Kaiju No. 8 features an auto-battle mode, but it doesn't always make the best decisions. It may use an Ultimate before applying buffs or mismanage SP. If you keep losing on auto, try switching to manual play.
