How to Use Ultimates
Fill the Ultimate Gauge
To use an Ultimate, fill the gauge next to the character icon. Activating an Ultimate typically requires 300 units in the Ultimate Gauge.
Goes Up After an Action or When Hit
The Ultimate Gauge increases when a character takes action or receives damage. Gains from taking damage are small, while acting provides a larger increase, typically 60 to 90. A character can usually use their Ultimate after acting 4 or 5 times.
Ultimates Ignore Turn Order
Ultimates can be used regardless of the turn order, allowing you to unleash them before an enemy attacks.

Use After Core Exposed
Damage dealt to enemies with an Exposed Core is increased by roughly 1.5x. Using an Ultimate after exposing a Kaiju's Core deals massive damage.
Core Exposed GuideFill Up Before Boss Battle
Some stages have 3 waves of enemies. So for example, leaving one Kaiju alive in the second wave allows you to fill the Ultimate Gauges, letting you deal heavy damage at the start of the boss wave.
