Shield Turret - Traits & Tips
How To Deploy The Shield Turret
The Shield Turret needs to be placed down in a given position before you can use it. Because there is a delay in placing it down, make sure there are no enemies nearby first. Also, there are some locations do not allow deployment.
Turret Lasts Until Destroyed
The Turret stays up even if you are killed. It stays in place until it is either destroyed, runs out of ammo, or the timer ends.
Pick Up To Redeploy
The Shield Turret can be picked up and moved if it is still active, even after the user is killed and respawns. Hold the "interact" command to move it. You cannot switch to another weapon while redeploying Shield Turret, however.
Appears On The Minimap
Both teams will be able to see the location of the turret on the minimap. Be aware of this as it might draw unwanted attention.
Strategies And Tips
Utilize Choke Points or Windows To Your Advantage
Using a choke point or narrow corridor (such a window) can be advantageous because it limits the angles from which an enemy will be able to hit you. A window can also be a good place because of the protection it provides.
High DPS Potential
Due to its high DPS, another way to use the turret is to try to go for risky plays which could change the tide of the game. The element of surprise is key, so set it up as fast as possible.
Set Up To Defend An Objective
Turrets can be used to hold down a hotly contested area, especially when provided with backup from your team. Make sure to choose a location with a good view of the objective when setting up.
The turret is particularly useful in Spec Ops missions!
