This is a guide on how to proceed with Upgrades in Chaos Zero Nightmare (CZN). It covers how to obtain Chaos Architects and lists the effects of Upgrades. Please use this to help you conquer Chaos in CZN.

What Are Upgrades?
Upgrade Effects Applied Within Chaos
Upgrading are an upgrade system that allows you to gain effects that increase your Status or give you an advantage in battles within Chaos. Once upgraded, the effect is permanently active within Chaos.
Also Applies in Seasonal Chaos
Active upgrade effects are also effective in Seasonal Chaos. It is recommended to advance your Upgrades as much as possible to make farming easier.
Specifications Changed in Season 2
Starting from Season 2, the Upgrade specifications have changed and are now divided into three tabs. In addition, new items such as Epiphany re-selection and specified Combatant Card copying have been added.
Previous Upgrades Have Been Reset
Along with the changes to the Upgrade specifications, all previous Upgrades have been reset. The Chaos Orbs used for upgrades have been returned as the new upgrade material, Chaos Architects.

Use Reset for Specific Upgrades Only
If you have a certain amount of materials, you can unlock all items by repeatedly activating and resetting them. Unlocked items do not require prerequisite acquisitions, so you can select and upgrade your favorite items.
CZN Zero System Best Upgrades
Reconstruct Epiphany
The [Meditation] feature becomes available in the Safe Area. Meditation is a function that allows you to re-select an Upgrade Epiphany by consuming Credit, and it is a very important upgrade for getting the Epiphany you want. Upgrade this with the highest priority.
Identification Signal Copy
Changes [Random Card Copy] to [Selected Combatant Copy]. This has the effect of reducing the pool of cards you want to copy to 1/3, in simple terms, so upgrade this with the highest priority.

How to Upgrade
Available in the Zero System Upgrades
Upgrades are available from the menu within the Zero System. Accessing it will display a list of upgrade items.
Fully Upgrade a Tier to Unlock the Next
When all items in the current tier are fully upgraded, the next locked tier will be unlocked. Once a tier is unlocked, it will remain unlocked even after a reset.
How to Obtain Chaos Architects
Defeat Bosses in Chaos Exploration
Chaos Architects can be obtained by defeating bosses in Chaos, such as in Seasonal Chaos.
Defeat Rare Species During Exploration
By defeating the Rare Species that appear during Chaos Exploration, you can obtain additional Chaos Orbs. However, be careful as Rare Species have special skills.
Rare Species Can Be Seen on the Map
Areas where Rare Species appear will have a dedicated icon displayed on the map. If you want to avoid battle, or conversely, want to farm orbs, check the map and choose your route.
Defeat the Aether-Eater
You can also obtain them by defeating the Aether-Eater, which has a low chance of appearing when you select a battle tile. If it appears, be sure to defeat it before it escapes.
