What are Upgrades?
Buffs That Apply in Chaos
Upgrades are a system that allows you to obtain effects that increase your Status or give you an advantage in combat within Chaos. Once upgraded, they are permanently active in Chaos.
Also Applies in Seasonal Chaos
Activated Upgrade effects also take effect within Event Chaos. You can turn off effects that you don't think are necessary, so it's best to advance your Upgrades as much as possible to make farming easier.
Efficient Progression
Upgrading to 2nd Level
By activating "Divine Representative Encounter" at the 2nd level, you can gain a random beneficial effect each time you enter Chaos. There is also an effect that reduces the HP of early-game enemies, so you should aim to unlock the 2nd level first.
Free Shop Refreshes at 4th Level
Activating "Free Item Refresh Protocol" at 4th Level allows you to refresh the items in the Dellang Shop for free up to 5 times. This reduces Credit consumption and makes it easier to aim for the equipment and Cards you want.
Upgrade a Level in Any Order
To unlock the next level, you must upgrade all currently available items in the current level. You can unlock the items within a level in any order you like.
How to Upgrade
Upgrades in Zero System
You can perform Upgrades from the menu within the Zero System. Accessing it displays a list of Upgrade items.
Fully Upgrading Unlocks the Next Level
When you fully upgrade all items in the current level, you will unlock the next level. You cannot proceed to the next level by partially upgrading, so upgrade the current level first.
Resetting Is Not Recommended
Items that have been upgraded can be reset by paying Chaos Orbs. However, since effects like the appearance rate of Rare Species can be turned off individually, you should only use this for situations where you don't want to apply Status Upgrade effects.
How to Get Chaos Orbs
Available from Exploration
You can get Chaos Orbs by entering and progressing through a Chaos Exploration from the Codex in the Zero System. Also, the acquisition multiplier changes depending on the level and penalties.
Obtainable from Waypoints
Although it's a smaller amount compared to clearing a Chaos, you can also get rewards when you escape from a waypoint.
Obtainable in Seasonal Chaos
Chaos Orbs can also be obtained in Seasonal Chaos. During the event, it is recommended to farm them in Seasonal Chaos.
Defeat Rare Species
By defeating Rare Species that appear during a Chaos Exploration, you can obtain additional Chaos Orbs. However, be careful as Rare Species have special skills.
Rare Species Appear on the Map
In areas where Rare Species appear, a dedicated icon will be displayed on the map. If you want to avoid combat, or on the contrary, if you want to farm orbs, check the map and choose your route.
