Season 2 Update
World Expansion

A rare Divine Intervention event can occur in the Codex. Completing these god encounters unlocks the Zero Archive, which reveals lore about the gods and may grant powerful special Fates.
Archive Standardization

The Agent Collection will be enhanced, with a new Archive to view monsters and equipment by planet, plus a new Lore Collection for terminology, characters, and events.
Psychological Counseling Improvements

New presentation elements and Breakdown-related choices will better show Combatants’ trauma. Poor counseling can worsen their condition, suspending Protos counseling, triggering medical intervention, and preventing Affinity gains.
Interaction Feature Improvements

Combatants will gain touch reactions in social areas, with future updates adding more interactions like shared meals and receiving DMs depending on the Combatant's mental state.
Galactic Martial Arts Tournament Event
New content will be added where Monster Cards obtained by defeating powerful enemies can be incorporated into your Save Data and used in combat.
New Monster
Appearing for the first time in Chaos Zero Nightmare, a massive new monster featuring destructible parts will be introduced.
Season Board and Medals

A Season Board will be added to track seasonal challenges and progression, with special medals awarded only for completing challenges in their respective seasons.
Spiral Tower of Screams

The Spiral Tower of Screams lets you climb up to 150 floors using freely combined decks, with no turn limit, earning rewards like token stickers and growth currency.
Growth Difficulty
Protos Sync System

The Protos Sync System lets untrained Combatants temporarily scale to a set level and potential, enabling immediate use in Chaos for testing decks and strategies.
Growth Adjustment System
Before the Protos Sync System, a new Galactic Disaster Chaos mode will let any Combatant be deployed immediately, with levels and stats scaled appropriately even without Potential or Memory Fragments.
Save Data Presets

A new preset feature will allow each Combatant to have multiple decks that can be switched as needed.
Borrow Save Data

Players can borrow friends’ Save Data once per day, but it can only be used in Simulation dungeons.
Guild Office

Players can accept weekly missions at the Guild Office, earning Crystals of Discord and growth currency by completing objectives like boss subjugations or Chaos purification.
Zero System Upgrade Rework

New upgrade effects will allow reapplying Epiphany to cards and selectively duplicating them, while each season will feature a unique skill tree called Environmental Variables.
Zero System Upgrade Stages
| Stage 1 | Accessibility Permission increases basic steps and Epiphany activation rates. |
|---|---|
| Stage 2 | Authority Expansion introduces effects such as encounters with Divine Representatives that influence stages and increased chances for rare Unidentified Areas to appear. |
| Stage 3 | Administrator Mode provides powerful effects, including additional Divine Representative choices and increased Divine Epiphany activation rates. |
Unique Codex Addition
A new Unique Codex will be introduced, offering a completely different experience from standard Chaos gameplay through fixed level design and special objectives.
Season 2 Update Balance Adjustments
Season 2 Balance Adjustment Direction
Chaos Zero Nightmare aims for diverse combat where characters play unique roles and multiple strategies coexist. Data like Epiphany and card selection rates will also be used to make balance adjustments.
Season 2 Major Balance Adjustments
| Upcoming Balance Adjustments |
|---|
| Common Cards with low adoption rates will be improved. These changes will include not only stat increases, but also structural adjustments. Heal mechanics for Controller Combatants will receive buffs. Combatants affected by these adjustments include Nia, Rei, Orlea, and Cassius. Underutilized builds, Unique Cards, and Epiphanies, including those related to Yuki, will receive buffs. Partner passive effects will be improved. Balance changes will be applied only in cases where certain mechanics exert enough influence to compromise the game's overall design. |
In Season 2 of Chaos Zero Nightmare, balance updates will strengthen underused cards, builds, and abilities, improve Controller heals, and address only game-disrupting mechanics.
Combatant Performance
For characters, problematic mechanics will be fixed instead of weakening them, preserving their intended roles and value. Key characters like Tressa and Cassius will remain strong and competitive after the changes.
Season 2 Update Other Improvements
Decorating Captain ID Card

Players will be able to decorate their ID Card using stickers, special lobby illustrations, and secondary illustrations.
Memory Fragment Management
The Memory Fragment management UI will be improved for better clarity, with highlighted main and sub options for each Combatant. Instant upgrades will also have a separate pop-up, and upgraded options will be clearly displayed.
Other QoL Improvements
| Quality of Life Improvements |
|---|
| Story skipping feature will be added. Simulation repeat counts will be removed, and a reward multiplier feature will be introduced. When using multipliers, entry Aether consumption will increase, rewards will scale accordingly, and only 1 wave will need to be cleared. A speed-up button will also be added to skip Unidentified Area animations within Chaos. |

Chaos Assault
Chaos Assault is a new, high-difficulty roguelike mode designed for Protos who want a more intense and challenging experience. The gameplay is intensified by interventions from various gods, which make the world more threatening.
Expect New Challenges
With stronger monsters, new penalties, and fresh deck-building elements, this high-difficulty mode disables certain systems like the Discard pile, offering a more free-form, constraint-free roguelike challenge.
Purification Protocol

Purification Protocol is a new, challenging content mode where Combatants are sent across multiple stages to defeat malware codes and restore a hacked system.
Stress Management is Crucial
Unlike standard combat, stress levels don’t reset between stages, meaning players must carefully manage their combatant deployment to avoid overloading them.
Code Breaker System is Introduced
Code Breakers are support effects that can be activated once a specific gauge is filled. This gauge fills up as players meet certain conditions during combat.
| Note! | To survive critical moments, players must choose code breakers that fit their setup and use their support effects at the right time. |
|---|
Challenge Mission per Combatant
New challenge missions tied to each Combatant's unique mechanics will be added. Completing these challenges rewards special stickers for that Combatant.
Growth Guide

A Growth Guide system will be introduced, providing information on required currency, recommended Memory Fragments, and Partners for each Combatant. Recommended base setups, potential thresholds, and priority rankings will also be presented.
Corruption

Combatants will acquire a new power, Corruption, which introduces skill changes, new effects, and unique visuals. This system will be implemented individually for each Combatant, beginning in Season 3.
PC Key Mapping Improvements
Key mapping will be added to PC Client settings, and the functionality of certain keys will be improved to provide a more comfortable PC gameplay experience.
Other Planned Improvements
Trauma Code Full Voiceover
To enhance immersion, full voiceover support for Trauma Code stories will be added gradually.
Scenario Improvements
The existing world and background will be preserved while ongoing efforts focus on enhancing narrative progression in ways that are expected to satisfy Protos.
