Cataclysm Occurs During Fight

At the start of the fight, a Cataclysm will occur. Whenever Ho-oh is bathed in light, there is a chance for it to restore some of its health each turn, and status effects will be healed! Ho-oh will be bathed in light for the whole fight!

Use Water, Electric, & Rock Attacks

Use Water, Electric, & Rock Attacks

Ho-oh is a fire-flying type Pokemon. It is weak to Water, Electric, and Rock attacks. While all three are viable ways to deal super effective damage, it is recommended to use Electric to have the chance to apply the parayzed effect, making Ho-oh lose a turn!

Counter Pressure With Ethers & Elixirs

Ho-oh's Pressure ability will have you burning through your effective move's PP in a few uses! In order to counteract this, you should bring some Max Ethers, and Elixirs to restore your lost PP, and continue the attack!

Use a Pounce Wand to Counter Whirlwind

Use Pounce Wand To Counter Whirlwind

Ho-oh will sometimes scatter your team around the map using his Whirlwind move. Getting back in position can make you waste several turns. However, using a Pounce Wand will instantly place you close to him again!
