Use Items to Set Up Your Attack

Use Items to Set Up Your Attack

Before hitting Raikou with any of your moves, use some items to gain the advantage during the fight! Use items like an All Dodge Orb to increase your team's evasiveness, or a Pounce Wand to surround the enemy!

Use Ground Moves For Super Effective Attacks

Use Ground Moves For Super Effective Attacks

Raikou is an electric Pokemon, which means that he is very weak against Ground-type attacks! Using high damage moves such as Earthquake can take out a huge chunk of Raikou's health! Attacks like Mud Bomb are also viable to lower the enemy's accuracy!

Aim to Apply Status Conditions

Aim to Apply Status Conditions

You can also opt to apply status conditions such as poison or burns! It helps to have as many sources of damage to bring down this tough opponent!

Try to Make Raikou Flinch

Moves such as Bite or Astonish are also useful! These moves make the opponent flinch, making them miss a turn! This is a great way to avoid taking damage from the enemy, and in some cases, can even stun them in place for several turns!

Bring Along Ethers & Elixirs

Bring Along Ethers & Elixirs

Raikou's Pressure ability can make you spend more PP when using a move! This may cause you to run out of PP in the middle of the fight. Make sure to bring along some Max Ethers or Elixirs to replenish your move's PP when you're in a bind!

How to Recruit Raikou

Not a Guaranteed Recruit

Keep in mind that Raikou is not a guaranteed recruit after you beat him. You may need to revisit this bonus dungeon again and farm him to be able to recruit him.

Increase Your Recruitment Chances With Friend Bow

Boost your recruitment chances by equipping your party leader with a Friend Bow before battling Raikou. This saves you time and effort as you may have to battle Raikou again for a chance to recruit it.
