Strategy Guide
Use the Steps Around You to Get Down From the Great Plateau Tower
Jumping directly from the top of the Great Plateau Tower to the ground will make you die, so use the steps around you to get down.
Complete 3 Other Shrines After Completing Oman Au Shrine
After completng Oman Au Shrine, warp to Great Plateau Tower again and talk to Old Man. After learning how to pin the map, head to the remaining three shrines. New Runes can be obtained from these three shrines.
Prioritize Ja Baij Shrine First
Prioritize the Ja Baij Shrine in the "Eastern Abbey", which is the closest to the Great Plateau Tower. There, you can get a Remote Bomb that is very useful as a means of attack.
Learn How To Cook
There is a small hut south of the Temple of Time. You can learn how to cook by the burning pot in the hut. You can cook by selecting ingredients from the inventory then approach the pot with the ingredients in hand and select Cook
Various effects can be obtained by eating cooked foods. You'll need to cook for the cold resistance right after this, so let's learn how to do it here.
Go Up To The Roof of Temple of Time
After completing all 4 shrines, the Old Man will wait for you on the roof of the Temple of Time before he walks away. Use the ladder next to the temple to climb to the roof.

How To Survive The Cold
Exploring Near Mount Hylia Requires Cold Resistance
Depending on the route you take, you might need to prepare for the cold to reach Owa Daim Shrine and Keh Namut Shrine. If you don't take measures against the cold, your Hearts will gradually decrease over time.
3 Ways To Stay Warm
A | Acquire and equip Warm Doublet |
---|---|
B | Cook Spicy Pepper and eat Spicy Sauteed Peppers |
C | Light the Torch (*not recommended) |
The above ways all work, but lighting a torch is not highly recommended. Because the fire gets extinguished easily during the actions such as an attack. It' best to prepare Warm Doublet or spicy foods to against the cold.
How To Get Warm Doublet
There are several ways to get Warm Doublet in the Great Plateau, but here's the way before heading to Mount Hylia.
Cook and Show the Spicy Meat and Seafood Fry to the Old Man In the Hut
Head to the hut south of the Temple of Time. In the hut, there is a diary with tips for cooking recipes that can be used to resist the cold weather. Make this dish and talk to the Old Man in front of the hut to get a Warm Doublet.
The tips says that in addition to Raw Meat and Spicy Pepper, there's another ingredient missing. The answer is Hyrule Bass. Please see below for the locations to obtain.
