Clear The Side Quest First
To expand your inventory in BotW, you need to complete the side quest "The Priceless Maracas" offered by Hestu near Kakariko Village. Afterwards, you can increase your inventory by giving Hestu the Korok Seeds you have acquired. The number of Korok Seeds required increases with each addition to the Inventory.
Collect Korok Seeds
To acquire Korok Seeds, you must search for Koroks that are scattered throughout the world. These exclusive creatures may appear in unexpected places, such as under a small stone or after solving a minor puzzle. If one comes across a peculiar location, it is worth investigating further to uncover hidden Koroks and obtain their valuable seeds.
All Korok Seeds LocationsHestu Moves Once You've Traded A Few Times
Location 1 | Between Kakariko Village and Kakariko Bridge After clearing the Side Quest, Hestu will move after expanding the inventory twice. |
---|---|
Location 2 | Woodland Stable、Wetland Stable、Riverside Stable If you expand your inventory total of five times across three specific locations, Hestu will relocate. However, once you encounter him at the Korok Forest, he will no longer appear at his previous locations. |
Location 3 | Korok Forest When you first come to Korok Forest, they will no longer spawn anywhere else. After that, it can be expanded any number of times in Korok Forest. |
After increasing the inventory twice near Kakariko Village, Hestu will move to another location. Next, it will appear in forests, swamps, and riverside stables, but after going to Korok Forest, they will only appear in the Korok Forest, so be careful.

Recommended Expansion Priority
Weapons | [Priority] ・Prioritize upgrading above else ・ Make sure to expand five times |
---|---|
Bow | [Medium Priority] ・You can expand it early at least 1 or 2 times ・After that, prioritize weapons and expand as needed |
Shield | [Low Priority] ・You can expand it early at least 1 or 2 times ・Expansion will be carried out immediately after the completion of weapons/bows from this point onwards. |
It Is Recommended To Prioritize Expanding Weapons First
Among the three, weapons are the ones that used. With all the different types out there, like elemental swords and hammers for smashing rocks, it's best to focus on upgrading your weapons and its corresponding inventory right from the start.
It's Also Good To Upgrade The Bow And Shield Early, At Least 1-2 Times
If you're just starting out, upgrading your Bow and Shield once or twice early on is a great idea since it won't cost you too many Korok Seeds. Once you're past that, focus on expanding your weapon stash first and then upgrade the bow stash as needed. As for the shield stash, it's not as important since you won't be using it as often, so you can hold off on upgrading it for now.
Adapt Inventory Expansion Based On Your Own Play Style
While the suggestions we provided earlier are highly recommended, don't hesitate to balance your upgrades according to your personal play style. If you plan on practicing deflecting Guardian beams with your shield, keep in mind that it may consume a lot of them, so upgrade your shield inventory accordingly.
