How To Activate Set Effects
Triggered By Aligning Armor That Has Been Strengthened By Two Levels
The set effects is triggered by matching armor that has been strengthened by 2 levels. The effect varies from armor, and will not be triggered if even one type of armor is equipped differently. Also, note that there are some types of armor, such as the Hylia series, that do not have a set effect.

Gerudo Set and Dark Set for example cannot be enhanced, but the set effect can still be activated. Also, the cross-dressing effect of the Gerudo Set can be activated even if you equip another head equipment like the Thunder Helm or feet equipment like the Sand Boots.
Armor Set Effects Are Different From Armor Effects
The effect of each armor piece and the set effect are two different things. In the case of the Rito equipment, the armor effect is Cold Resistance, which activates on one level for head equipment alone. In contrast, the set effect Unfreezable does not activate unless the head, body, and feet are all equipped.
