Basically, Horse Gear only changes the appearance and does not have any additional effect, except for the Ancient Horse Gear from the second DLC. It increases the number of times yuo can dash and will allow you to whistle to summon the horse from any location, so if you often travel by Horse, it's best to equip it.

Initial Equipment
Stable Horse Gear is the initial equipment when you register at any Horse Stable. It is not saved as an essential equipment, but it can be changed to at the Horse Stable.
Knight's Horse Gear
Obtained As A Reward From Faron Mounted Archery Camp

Knight's Horse Gear can be obtained as a reward from a mini-game that can be played at the Faron Mounted Archery Camp, west of Faron Highland Stable. You need to talk to the Horse while riding it, so bring a Horse that you have tamed from Highland Stable.

- Horse speed of 3 or less to make it easier to hit targets
- Targets that are grouped together can be destroyed by bomb arrows
- Bows that can hit in three directions at one, such as the Great Eagle Bow, are recommended
- If you get off the Horse, you will fail
Royal Horse Gear
"The Royal White Stallion" Side Quest Reward
The Royal Horse Gear is available as a reward for the Side Quest "The Royal White Stallion", which can be found at the Outskirt Stable in Central Hyrule. Catch the White Horse at Safula Hill, then talk to Toffa.
Extravagant Horse Gear

Monster Horse Gear can be purchased from Kilton at the Monster Shop. You can buy them not with Rupees but with Mons, a special currency that can be obtained by selling Monster materials. Kilton will randomly appear on certain locations after you talk to him in Skull Lake.

The Ancient Horse Gear is not available in the base game, and can only be obtained after purchasing the DLC. It can be obtained from treasure chests in Malanya Spring and Satori's Mountain after the Side Quest "Ancient Horse Rumors" added in the 2nd DLC.
Traveler's Horse Gear
Exclusive For Amiibo
Traveler's Horse Gear can be obtained by loading the amiibo "Link (Rider)". You can only try it once a day at random to see if you can get it. If you do not have it, keep trying until you do.
How To Change Horse Gear
Can Be Changed At Certain Horse Inns
Horse Gear can be changed at the Plateau, Off Plains, Forest, and South Akkala Stable. To change it, talk to the woman in front of the barn next to the inn, and warp to the nearby shrine. Note, however, that only Epona and giant Horses cannot be changed.

The Horse's equipment can only be changed after it is maxed out. This can be raised by calming the horse after a specific action while riding it, so first try to ride around to maximize it!
How To Tame Horse
- When Horse gets fussy while riding, press L to calm it down
- When it returns to normal speed after a dash, press L to calm it down
- Give it food
Vertical Gazing Can Be Changed
Not only can you change the Horse gear, but you can also change the appearance of the head. It is not necessary to obtain the Horse's gear.
