To increase your Heart Containers and Stamina Vessels, you'll need to offer "Spirit Orbs" to the Goddess Statue. These orbs can be earned by completing shrines, so seek out these scattered structures across the land, and present the orbs you earn to the statue.
Can Be Increased By 1 Stage With 4 Spirit Orbs
4 Spirit Orbs can increase either the Heart Container or the Stamina Vessel by one. Each level increase will increase the Heart Container by 1 and the Stamina Vessel by 0.2 rounds of the gauge.

At the Demon Statues, you have the option to exchange your heart containers to stamina vessels. You can sell one type of vessel for 100 Rupees and purchase the other type for 120 Rupees, essentially exchanging them for a mere 20 Rupees.
