Canceling Attacks is a technique that you can use in Xenoblade 3. Guide includes what is Canceling Attacks, how to do it, and the mechanism that utilize Fusion Arts and the "The Art Of Flow."

What Is Canceling Attack?

Eliminates The Gap After An Attack And Connect The Combo.

Canceling Attacks is a technique that eliminates the gap created after an attack. This enables you to immediately perform the following attack. By utilizing this technique to your advantage, you can execute combos faster. When Canceling Attacks are successful, a white effect appears on the screen.

Accumulation For Chain Gauge

When Juniper (Yuzuriha) teaches you the "The Art Of Flow", your Chain Gauge will accumulate whenever you do Canceling Attacks. Once the Chain Gauge is full, you can activate a powerful Chain Attack so be proactive in Canceling Attacks.

The Art Of Flow Is Available In Chapter 4

The Art Of Flow is a requirement from Juniper (Yuzuriha) in the middle of Chapter 4 of the story.

How To Do Canceling Attacks?

Execute The Next Attack When The Initial Attack Lands

Procedure① Auto-Attack ▶ Arts
② Arts ▶ Talent Art

When the initial attack successfully lands on the enemy, you can immediately execute the next attack. The timing is not hard to match and just spam the button of the skill that you want to use next. Usually, only Auto-Attack is connected to Arts.

Arts Can Be Executed With Fusion Arts

Procedure① Arts ▶ Fusion Arts ▶ Arts
② Fusion Arts ▶ Fusion Arts

Until you learn "The Arts of Flow" from Chapter 4, you cannot combine Arts with Fusion Arts. However, it is possible to cancel Arts with Fusion Arts and then follow it with Arts. But in this case, Fusion Arts consume two Arts when activated. There are only a limited number of situations in which it can be used.

The moment you learn "The Arts of Flow" from Chapter 4, you are now able to cancel Arts with Arts. With this, you can execute a lot of possible combos that can greatly affect your combat experience.

Increase Attack With Accessories

There are accessories that can increase your Attack for each Canceling Attack that is done. Combining it with the "Art of Flow" can greatly increase the damage output you can deal to enemies.

Ouroboros Arts Cancelling

Must Be Released In Soul Tree

In order to perform Canceling Attacks with Ouroboros, you must learn Unlock Arts Canceling in the Soul Tree. It is an upgrade that should be prioritized because it speeds up your action speed.
