What Are Partners?
Allies Who Help You Out In Battle
Partners are characters who will join you in your adventures during the game. They're not just eye candy, however as they will also aid you in battle! The extent to which they aid you in battle will also differ, with later partners dealing substantially more damage.

Characters that accompany you on your adventure will change from zone to zone. You will not be able to choose who comes with you as the partner you have with you is entirely determined by the story!
Is Olivia A Partner?
Strictly speaking, Olivia is not a partner, as she won't join you on the battlefield and deal damage to enemies like Kamek or Bob-omb will. Olivia will, however, transform into Vellumentals you've defeated! This ability is used in the overworld to solve various puzzles.

After clearing the game, you'll be able to revisit any zone you went to before. You will not, however, be able to freely choose what partner comes with you. In fact, some partners will become unavailable to play after you clear certain parts of the game.
