How To Enchant Items In Minecraft

1. Craft An Enchantment Table

The first thing you need to do is to build an Enchantment Table. The materials you need are some Obsidian, 2 Diamonds, and a Book. These are items that can be hard to find or gather so enchantment is more of a latter game feature.

2. Choose Item To Enchant

Once you've build your Enchantment Table, open it up to choose the item you want to enchant. You'll need to place some Lapis Lazuli into the crafting table as part of the process.

3. Sacrifice Experience Levels To Enchant Items

When you're done choosing your item, you'll see 3 potential enchantments will pop up. You can choose 1 of the 3 and sacrifice the corresponding experience level to get those enchantments.

Higher Levels = Higher Enchantments

The more experience levels you sacrifice, the higher the level of enchantment you will receive. However, there is no surefire way of getting the enchantment you want as it is randomly generated.

Enchantments You Get Are Random

Though you can attempt to decipher the enchantment symbols when they show up in the table, you won't know for sure what enchantment you'll get until the process is over.

Tips On Minecraft Enchantment

Surround Table With Bookshelves To Increase Enchantment Levels

An Enchantment Table can only provide up to Level 8 enchantments. However, you can place bookshelves around it to increase the enchantment levels up to Level 30.

Enchant Books For Later Use

If you have a lot of levels, you can enchant a book instead and then use it later when you have a tool or item you want to enchant with that specific enchantment.

Use Anvil To Combine Enchantments

You can use an Anvil to add another enchantment to an already enchanted item via a Book. You can also use the Anvil to combine two items that are enchanted.

What Is Enchanting?

Adding Magical Properties To Enhance Items

Enchantment in Minecraft adds magical properties to tools and items to make them more efficient or powerful. This can be higher attack power for weapons or a higher effectiveness of your pickaxe or shovel.

Need Experience Levels To Enchant

You'll need to sacrifice your earned experience levels in Minecraft to complete the enchantment process. It's best to save up some experience levels to enchant your tools or weapons to make them stronger!
